What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Stephen, the wood on that knife is mesmerizing.

What he said!

I felt like going back to where it all began today. This 110 was the first good knife I ever bought, and I carried it day in and day out for a little oover a year until getting knee deep in knife collecting.

Just got home from an 8 hour drive. Went straight to the mailbox, opened my package, and had this 73 Appaloosa in my pocket before I made it inside. Thanks Barry

My goodness, you folks have posted a lot of knives here over the past 3 days, and the quality is even more impressive than the quantity!:thumbup:
(I'm finding it almost impossible to catch up after ignoring this thread for the weekend! :( That will teach me! :o)

Among the knives I selected for this week's carry are these two mementos of a trip to Toledo, Spain with my daughter:

Admit it. You immediately removed the knife from your pocket when you got inside the house so that you could eye ball it some more. ;) :D Congrats!

Nice mementos!

I want a Queen 1095 or GEC 1095/440C sowbelly with the same handle material as that last one! Is that ram's horn?

:D I did! Then I cut some pizza with it! Still eyeing it as I type. I've have always liked Case's appaloosa and this GEC (I think) second attempt is really close to that? A little darker and more of a solid but really well done. I know mine isn't the best one out there, but I am more than satisfied with it.

I have my 79 Workhorse Whittler in my pocket today. It's like a sarcastic stockman: Let's make every blade full size, and put a long pull on each of them as well!

Thanks, Jake! The little Joker was labelled as having "asta autentica" handles; I (and my daughter who's fluent in Spanish) thought that was authentic bull horn (daughter thought it is often expressed "autentica asta de toro"). So I think it's blond cattle horn, but I could be wrong.

S&M Gunstock in Sheffield Green.

That bone certainly does have an old feel to it.:thumbup::)

Beautiful picture David, took mine today on the fly so not too impressive but a little ivory sure dressed up my dirty ford :)

I have this one in my pocket today.

I don't remember seeing that Davison before - a new arrival ? The wood and shield are terrific !!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::)

I carried my Lon Humphrey Brute de Forge Custom Whitetail today, in Ebony. Thunderstorms prevented any pics of it. Pics for another day, I reckon. :D

I'm really starting to like those 73s.

This French knife today... the Juniper wood smells yummy!

3 very cool knives withequaly nice covers.

I updated my carry a bit.
I whent a little overboard with the camillus yesterday. I had to peen out some play, so I started re polishing the bolsters. Well before I knew it I pretty much made the thing new again wiping away the 50 plus years of beauty marks. I haven't touched the blades yet, but I couldn't get a good photo of it open to show the contrast. Part of me is upset that I got so carried away, but the other part is stunned at how good its turning out.

Brett - Felt good didn't it :D:eek::D A box with a knife inside is just about my favorite kind of mail:D That is a beauty, congratulations :D

TX_planes, Ron, Erik, and Primble - thanks guys! I really like the way that one looks, but even more so how well it's made. The spring and liners look and feel like a single solid piece of stock. It's perfectly flush in all three positions and the action on it is as smooth as butter. :)

Erik - the Buck 110 was the first knife I ever lusted after. When I was about 10 years old I had a small Uncle Henry stockman, but really wanted a Buck 110 like the cooler, older kids had. It took me a few years, but I finally got one. :)

Brett - I've never really been drawn to appaloosa bone, but after seeing yours I'm rethinking that. ;) Very nice!

GT - two great looking knives. I especially like the horn.

Macchina - I like it... a 'sarcastic stockman' though I think GEC nailed the name with 'workhorse' too. Great looking and very useful looking knife.

Phil - I love everything about that Lloyd of yours, but especially the shield and the very unique nail nick.

choombak - beautiful knife and some of the nicest looking juniper covers I've seen.

Primble - I've had this one for a while and posted photos before, though I think I managed to capture some of the character in the ironwood burl a bit better in this photo. I hope the weather improves for you tomorrow, not least of all because I miss seeing your photos. ;) :)

Wow, Gary, Drew, Erik, Brett, Philllll and others, many nice carries today. I will shed more light on the Tractor Red #73 linerlock that just arrived today...blowin away by ones shenanigans...more to follow this week when I can catch up a bit.

I was just able to take advantage of the setting sun before it was gone for the day:cool:

The pull is just right on them and I really like the bold red coloring and wave jigging.
