What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Scagel Fruitport today. Even using the slip case.... for now.

Really like the looks of this Scagel. What are the dimensions? Type of steel? Handle material? Thanks.

^ ^ ^ That Northfield is a beauty Trand. (although that SBJ is no slouch either.;))

I'm back to this one today.

Case Mini Trapper w/Wharncliff in Caribbean Blue. Not my favorite handle color, but I love the blades. May get it rehandled some day, since Case doesn't want to sell me this model in something normal, like stag, "bone stag", or even amber/caramel bone.

Sam, I feel your pain. What is with all the oddball colors on wharncliffe trappers? How about a chestnut or dark molasses or stag or even burnt white bone?

Thanks Dan. I really like that Ultralight Front Pocket too. I'm on Gene's list and only a little more to go...

Nice dogleg Elliot, man Case really knocks those T.B. collabs out of the park!

Elliot, those doglegs keep jumpin' back into a fellow's pocket every time he turns his back, don't they?

It's a great pattern and Case did a very nice job with these.

The dogleg is very high up in the rarefied atmosphere of my personal pantheon of patterns. (Alliteration notwithstanding...I felt a little like Hedley Lamarr just then. ;))

Two of my favs (the knife and the beer). 1974 Case xx 62131 cv. I never thought there would be much difference between the canoe with 2 springs versus the one with just one spring, but there really is. And oh my lord, the pen blade is so much thinner, it slices boxes like a scalpel. I can hardly use a normal thickness blade now.

I love these pics. I saw the more modern production of this knife with the amber bone and really liked it....have one on the way.

But it was these pics that made me want one just like this with the red bone handles. Found two today online made in 75'(my birth year). Hopped on both of them. One is new, one is a little more used like the one in these pics. Can't wait. Beautiful knife!

Normally I despise etchings on a knife, but for reasons I cannot explain....I really like the Native American in his canoe.

magus, i just picked up an amber bone canoe in cv, and i think you will be quite pleased with yours when you get it.

thanks
sam

It was a Case day today, with my everpresent mini-copperhead and my wharncliffe mini-trapper that I won in Jason's give away...
