What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Well, after all it is my 1st Wednesday with this jewel ;);):D:eek::D

After a long trip from Florida to San Francisco (I think Acadian was trying to intercept me on the sly) these finally made it to Dallas after a week in the mail. Thanks Gov't run business!

That Evan guy sure does know how to mod/make knives...I am totally elated with these two! The double blade is so daggone narrow.

Sometimes receiving the right knife/knives on a bad day really does help!

Working with the bees.
5k, I will be in grand rapids for the first two weeks of August, if you wanted to get a cup of coffee some time, let me know.

Enjoying a decent beer and a nice snack after a long day, a Hidalgo front lock by Jerry Halfrich in old growth redwood burl and Mike Norris "Hornet's Nest" stainless damascus helping out

Congrats, Joe!

I got to handle both of those and they were top notch! The vintage micarta on the 2 blade was really nice stuff, and the new stuff on the single ain't too shabby either. The single was so incredibly thin and light, and he did a really nice job fitting all the different colors together.

...Thanks GT - I have a hearty bowl of oatmeal each morning myself :) - helluva way to start the day
I have a real fondness for the 2011 Forum knife too, and custom or not, that piece (and a whole lot of other production pieces I see here) takes a backseat to no one :)
Cheers, David! :p

Sorry I haven't been around lately guys. It's been just crazy down here. First it was a trip to AR with a 3 day turnaround, then back home to Texas. The last 3 days have been spent packing and moving. Today was the "official" big day, unfortunately we're only 3/4 done. We should wrap it up on Thursday tho. ...
Hope the move goes as smooth as possible, Ryan, and that you can start feeling settled in ASAP. ;)

GT - always enjoy seeing the Case Sodbuster Jr.

Mark and GT - I reckon I am going to have to get a stouter belt if I try that again. :o:o:D
...
Thanks, Primble; I didn't think I cared for single-blade folders, but I like that Sodbuster more than a little! ;)
I recommend one of those woven elasticized fabric belts. I have one, and I can crank it really tight without cutting off blood flow to any extremities. :p

Grabbed the EdgeMark stockman this morning.
...
Holy Smokes, that is an absolute stunner!:thumbup::thumbup: I've never heard of EdgeMark, but you can bet I'll be doing some research.

...
Thanks GT, The Chestnut Bone covers look great on your sodbuster.
...
I was in the mood for a stockman today but you guys got me into carrying 2 knives now so I had this one in addition to my 73.
...
Thanks, Dave; I REALLY like Case's chestnut bone, but your old Case has amazing red bone covers! Wow!:thumbup:

...You've inspired me to carry mine today Stephen
...
Such a superb, classic knife, Jack!:thumbup:

I admire your Barlow and your photo processing skills, Jim!:cool: I laughed when I saw your photos. :D:D But then, being the old geezer I am, I became a bit despondent thinking about the fact that the camera no longer tells the truth all the time, that a picture isn't necessarily worth a thousand (true) words anymore, that even though we say, "Without pics, it didn't happen" that no longer implies that if you have pictures it DID actually happen. :(:o:rolleyes:

Some patina starting to show on my case and Opie. Faithful carries, really enjoying the CV, a bit softer than I'm used to but sharpens right up.
...
Those are some fine classics, Tim; looking great!:D:thumbup:

Older pic. I need to snap a new one. David's carry from yesterday reminded me to give this one some lovin.
...
Nice, Bob; as I told David yesterday, IMHO they don't get much better than that one!:cool::thumbup:

...
I thought this was stainless when I bought it in an antique mall last week.
...
Kind of a pleasant surprise, isn't it? :D I had that with an Imperial Barlow I got at a gun & knife show about a month ago.

Always enjoy seeing that lockback with its splendid handles! ;)

...
City Knife with an AG Russell Premium Scout for me today, one of my absolute favorites in a scout pattern.
...
Totally tip-top tandem today, Tom!!:p

Well so much for San Francisco; my lovely lady Bree has fallen ill and we spent the night in the ER. Today is her birthday. The meds have helped some, but no one can tell us why she's having such bad abdominal pains, but it's nothing obvious. A stressful 36 hours to say the least but the Lord has his ways. My hot water heater sprung a leak too. Cold showers since Monday, and the repair guy isn't coming til Friday afternoon. At least my pool is warm and chlorine is kinda like soap, right?

Sorry you, your birthday girl, and your dog all were having a less than ideal day! :( But congrats on the arrival of some dynamite knives, and for the important "moral of the story" you could share with us! :D:D:p

Got a wisdom tooth removed yesterday... :sorrow:
Dang - the day after is really hell. Seems like my skull will fly appart.

Tried to stay in bed and this one in reach... Orange Pioneer
...
Es tut mir leid zu hören, dass ihre Zahn Schmerzen, Andi. :( But that orange Pioneer should have some medicinal powers. ;)

Totin around this old Russell in the yard today, well worn but still tight and sharp.
...
Mighty fine knife, Augie! :cool::cool:

I got the Half Whittler in 2010 and the Mini Trapper in 2013 and carried both this morning for the first time ever. Carried the 73 in the afternoon.
...
Harry
Harry, you have a lot more will power or self-control than I do if you can have awesome knives like those Cases that you keep yourself from carrying for 2-5 years!:eek::D:thumbup:

Well, after all it is my 1st Wednesday with this jewel ;);):D:eek::D

Still looks fantastic, Ron, whatever day of the week it is! ;);)

That sounds great, WMB, but I'll have to take a rain check; we'll be out of town on vacation Aug. 1-15. :(

Couple of knives on my person this week: Rough Rider scout and stag Buck canoe.

- GT

Every esnyx custom comes with a complimentary Phil Phondling... wait, that just sounds WRONG! :barf:

It's okay. I've known Florida was full of interesting folks since I was little. Half my family lived there at the time :)

Good to see you, Stephen!:D

Thanks Gev, it's great to see you as well. Hopefully I'll be posting more regularly from now on. :) That's a stunning old swayback you're totin' today. Very nice!

Great choices Stephen - Sunday, Monday, Tuesday !!!:)

Much appreciated. :) That was an impressive collection of oldies you were showing too.
