What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Beautiful spear mods, Bob and Mark.

Rob, I never tire of seeing that long pull spear.

Tim, your spear TC ranks right up there with Rob's as perfection in TCness.

My spear is on deck for tomorrow!

Rob, my TC EDC is a Barlow for all seasons and tasks. Once I took the plunge to toss it naked into my RFP with keys and such and use it for everything it started getting all skanky looking. Builds character don't you know?

Nice of you to think of his feelings Bob  Maybe he's just wondering why anyone would buy a limited edition spey Barlow (with a blade that Charlie put a lot of effort into), when what they actually wanted was a spearpoint
Hi Jack. I felt the same way for a while and actually was concerned about how people might feel about just what you mentioned. In the end, I just decided it's my knife, I'll do with it what I want. For a user, the spearpoint blade is more useful to me than a Spey. I'm not really much of a collector and if I were, I never would have modified the knife. I certainly do appreciate the work that Charlie puts into coming up with new ideas to pay tribute to traditional Barlows, and mean no disrespect to him. My modification doesn't stray from that tradition other than maybe the coping blade modification. That came about as I didn't see the need for two spear shaped blades on one knife. I didn't buy the knife with the intent on changing the blade shape. That came out of boredom and trying to keep my mind busy through my medical issues. It's good therapy.

I agree with all of that Bob  I noticed the knife when you first did it. Sometimes it gets a bit giddy on here though (hence my post) ;) Hopefully, some of that run will stay as made

Is there a wellspring of long pull spear TC's I'm unaware of where one might acquire one? If I really wanted a LPS spear (I do, by the way) and had the forethought and wherewithal to perform such a mod, I wouldn't hesitate. The LPS charlows seem to be made of unobtainium, or at the very least they're made of prohibitivelyexpensiveium.

Liking that Gold tinged bolster reflecting off the maratac Erik, nice shot :)

Man oh man, that's a high compliment to be paid as I admire Rob's work immensely. Thank you Dean :)

Tim, that Chestnut jigged TC came out nice.

Thank you Bob, it's going through it's paces now on the daily :)

Bob, you don't need to explain anything to ANYONE! It's YOUR knife! Nice work and I like MINE too!

This was also one of my considerations. I tried for quite some time to find a TC with long pull spear. Always a day late and a dollar short. :( But for the most part, very unavailable.
