What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Another beauty Derek... someday you must get together all of your Barkies for a group shot. You have an incredible collection, from what I've gathered by your pics in this thread.

Much thanks, my friend! A group shot would be something of a project - many of my BRKT's are deep in safe storage or dedicated to a vehicle, bug-out bag, backpack, or haversack.

Mixing it up with a L.T.W. Patriot today:

I agree Erik
Been wanting to see Derek's Bark River family as well all happily together. ;):D
It would make for some VERY impressive photos.

Thanks to you both, Erik and Dan. Like I said, it would be quite a project - it would probably take me the better part of a day. Maybe I'll work up the desire one of these days... Meanwhile, back to the woods! Hehe...

Happy Halloween

Outstanding trio there, Luc! That lime cutter is sick!

After making 23 days tobacco free, I went to an AA conference last night and fell off the wagon. One more day of conference left. As "Jane Says" ... I'll kick tomorrow.

It's a long time kicking tobacco but at least you're still after it CM after everything else you've kicked. Monster of a Case and very nice Magnum.

Almost always have my 73 in my pocket and today used it to get some carrots ready from out of our raised garden.

I really enjoy seeing the outstanding knives everyone posts here each day, even if "life" is preventing me from making my admiration public for each one!:thumbup: Here are a few that really caught my eye in the past few days.

Peanut is a good one to carry around Tony, mine is pretty much in my watch pocket all the time, I use it quite a bit too, very sharp and no one gets bothered when I take it out to cut, always a plus ;)

That is one fine, fancy Peanut, Gary!

My dad gave me this knife about 25 years ago. It's one of the first two knives I was ever given, and it's a fantastic apple slicer.

Fabulous old Uncle Henry, NickelOak, and the sentimental value of a gift from your dad makes it even better!

Cool pics and nice choices GT
...
Belated thanks for the kind words, Jack. :)

...
Thanks to kootenayjoe for this beauty after a sit down and knife chat in our small town. :D

Dan, that's a lovely knife and an incredible photo!:thumbup:

...That imperial must me amazing, I'm jealous!
Thanks, bigfoot. :) That 2-blade Imperial toothpick is quite special to me because it's very similar to one my Grandpa used to carry. ;)

Those are a couple of gorgeous knives, wundergussy!

Nice SAK MT Damascus... got in the Dark Blue Pioneer today so carrying with the cadet

Congrats, Steve! Are those the Limited Edition steel blue Alox I've been hearing about?

Outstanding Charlow, Dean; the color of the bone is superb! But I have to admit the pencil grabbed my attention! I haven't seen one of those in AGES (like 50 years, maybe?). Did you get that recently? I remember having those when I was a kid on the farm, usually advertising seed corn. Wow, your photo sure brought back a memory that was buried for a LONG time!! :D

Superior knife, Gev  (and the organic pocket slip is quite fetching as well :D)

... I had a tooth pulled in Sheffield, annoying as I think it could have been avoided, and returned home on the next train :( ...

I've had such a busy week, and it's not slowed down yet. Hope everyone has a great weekend. Carrying my Davison to brighten up my day :)

Sorry to hear about the dental woes, and the ongoing busyness, Jack. :( That's such a great photo of your Davison, with the liners reflected in the blade!

Cramer Lanny's Clip Jr. today.

wazu, Gary, Erik, and Adam, you all posted some drop-dead gorgeous stag on Friday (I think):thumbup:, but I didn't see it until today, so I'm considering those all bonus Stag Saturday pics!!

Carrying an old Bob Cargill large canoe today.

Fantastic canoe, balor!

Great carries today, love this thread!

Fixed blade and scout today

Mark, you've gotta be so proud of your fixed blade! But that Keen Kutter scout really twangs my heartstrings! Superb knives!:cool:

Wenger Commander and #23 in burnt stag. (finally stopped raining)

Sat%20EDC%2010-31_zpss8o0r3bd.jpg
Nice pair, Robert! I saw some quite disturbing video of Texas flooding on the news this morning; hope you've been "keeping your powder dry!"

Carrying my first Farmer today. I actually prefer this one over the Cadet. I like the thickness to it.

Thank you Paul. Adalynn has already claimed it, calling it, "Pumpky['s] knife." She loves it as much as I do. :D

Hope you all have a great weekend.
Beautiful blue Farmer, Brett! Adalynn has great taste - it's a superb knife.;)

...For some reason I take more pictures of this 73 than any knife I own! :D This was taken on 10/24, fresh apple patina! ;):eek:

It's a very photogenic 73, Ron!

After making 23 days tobacco free, I went to an AA conference last night and fell off the wagon. One more day of conference left. As "Jane Says" ... I'll kick tomorrow.

23 days is a great start, sir; keep at it! After smoking (mostly cigars) for 45 years, I finally quit (well, at least so far) last Christmas; more money available for knives, for sure! :D

Almost always have my 73 in my pocket and today used it to get some carrots ready from out of our raised garden.

Harry

Harry, your stag 73, and the pocket slip, are aging beautifully!:cool:

Here are the knives I've carried this week that I haven't posted here yet this week. Kind of redundant, since I carry them every week; but what the heck, I sure like them! :p
a Vic Electrician from greg c

a Vic Minichamp

a Case chestnut bone CV Sodbuster Jr that I won in a BigBiscuit GAW

a Case SS Delrin Peanut that I won in a Cory Hess GAW

(I also carried a Colonial SAK advertising the Donnelly Corporation all week, but I apparently don't have a photo of it :().

Happy Halloween, all!

Thanks Gary!!! We were very fortunate, wind, hail but only 3.2 inches in that 24 hour monsoon...about 5.5 for the week.

Great choices this week...esp the SAKs!!! :D

Nothing special today. Carved up some pumpkins for the kids with this little SM jack. One of the most tenured slippes in my collection. Not fancy, but well ground, sharp and snappy. Solid little carry...

I got the pencil a couple years ago at an antique store. They had several; wish I had bought more of them.

I really like that S and M! I especially like the top slanted bolster.

Derek
And a nice one it is! A terrific picture!

Thanks, buddy. And nice patina on that #73. Got a couple of those myself - great knife.

Glad to hear that you haven't had much damage! :)
Thanks for the compliment; I typically carry 3 SAKs each week: the Electrician, the Minichamp, and one other from a rotation of about 8 or 9. :D

Thanks for the info, Dean; I'll have to keep my eyes peeled for one of those babies.:p
