Since finishing this one it hasn't left my pocket except to be used or put on the table next to my bed...it comes in handy at work to remove steel splinters and as a "clean" knife (I have a secondary for the dirty hard use tasks).

Background is a typical HAAS cnc running a program machining spiders for a drum brake axle setup.

I have always liked this one from Bill Ruple.

Ken, I had always wanted one and when the opportunity presented a few years back I jumped.

This one had uncharacteristically thick bevels for some reason (though the edge was finished smoothly per my thumbnail).
So, I finally bit the bullet yesterday and spent some time thinning down the bevels and putting an edge on the two blades.
I was a little sorry to put those light scratches on the flats but I'm much happier with the "knife" now. It'll cut. And as Tony Bose has aptly said, that's first and foremost.

(If you look at the 3rd picture, you can see a little burr I failed to remove. I've since corrected that after seeing it in the image.)

Thanks, Ken. This knife along with the hunters from you and Jerry Halfrich are a pleasure in the hand.

This pair today. A Case SBJ seems to always seems to be in my watch pocket these days and is my go to knife. That also frees up my right front pocket to rotate larger knives like my Scagel Fruitport.

I've been carrying this one since I got it last Friday and I'm really digging it:

It's a great handful of knife and I'm loving the sheepsfoot -but it may take a time out of rotation when a new one arrives tomorrw... :o:D

Elliott, that's a real sweetheart. The swedges and the bolsters are a nice touch. Its these little things that make for a classy package.

Thanks, brother, and it's really good to see you back around again.:thumbup:

You mean you actually use it? But that knife's a custom, it'll destroy the value! Oh the horror... ;)

that 3.0 TI looks really good, want a couple too! one as a light backup

today it's the 73 rucarta again, will be my edc for a while, wanted a spare one for like...3 years? and now I have it and it's even awesome YEAH!

Thanks for showing this. It inspired me to carry mine today.
It chased a Queen QCCC Greenbone Teardrop out of my pocket though, it sharpens up beautifully.
Teardrops keep falling on me head..:D
