What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Superb old Boker congress, GasMan; that shield is perfect for the shape of the knife!

It's a great one. I have my eye on some other 77s, but I have to pace myself. I've got a 54 Moose and a 15 Boy's knife incoming, and a bunch of Rough Riders to boot. But when the time comes, I'll be looking at a 77 with nice stag no doubt.
Beautiful picture!
Whoa, sounds like you're diving right into the deep end, Dschal!!;) When your Rough Riders come in, here's a thread where lots of people post their RRs: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/582468-Rough-Rider-amp-Related-Slipjoints

…GT- I've had to apply wax twice so far the last two weeks. Wood keeps on soaking it up. :D
Yes. It's a Swayback Jack. What a great knife. I really like your Case Cv Jigged bone trio you have there. Makes me want a Case sodbuster junior too!
…
Thanks for the info, Dan. :) Yeah, the Case CV chestnut jigged bone is addictive; I have 3 I thoroughly enjoy, but I'm always thinking about getting a matching peanut, and stockman, and maybe a trapper, and ... :o

In the Yosemite valley this morning-

Glorious photo, StoneBeard!! :eek::cool::thumbup:

Yes it is cryptic as usual, GT:D BNSF started as a holding company and soon will own it all from Canada through the US. All controlled by a nice ice cream licking old man;) I'll let you do the math, my friend;):D As per the shot... a bridge had been washed out and the road was shut down. The trains always stop along this section of track but the road traffic is usually to heavy for me to stop.
Thanks for the follow-up, Gev; fascinating background!

I can't decide
Lol I got my watch now I need a little and a large knife and my lighter decisions decisions

I'l bet your pants have at least 4 pockets; you could just grab all your knives and put a couple in each pocket, and not have to worry about deciding which one(s) to carry! :D What's that saying? "It's better to have more than you need than to need more than you have."

…
It happens to us all my friend. Thanks for the comments on my Harrison-Fisher and IXL there, I edited them in Photobucket. Here they are au naturel :)
…
Fantastic that you still have your Colonial
…
I'm carrying this one today

Thanks for the additional unfiltered photos, Jack. :) I guess I'm stuck in the 17th century when it comes to my artistic preferences - no impressionist claptrap for me, give me high-fidelity representational images!! :o:rolleyes:

You're welcome GT, haha I'm glad too. I was going to have one embarrassing story alongside an even worse row of teeth if it fell out. Beautiful burl it looks like on that Remington canoe. Lots of nice swirls.
…
To prepare for a new city knife by Bret, carrying the current city knife~
tumblr_o4gte2pwSU1rzq6m9o1_1280.jpg
Thanks, Tim. :) The covers on the Remington canoe ARE quite mesmerizing! That's a distinguished Dowell, and more is on the way??

Good morning all. It's been too long since I stopped in. 2 jobs and prepping to buy our first home. Here's a predawn pocket dump. Some things never change.

Good to see your post, Lemmy! Best wishes on the home purchase. Interesting pocket dump with lots of desirable knives; what's the dark one just to the right of your Alox SAK (or is that part of your comb?)? Nice toothpick; do you still have that toothpick that you rehandled with the red covers? That was a ravishing knife!!

Carrying my very first commissioned custom knife today. Beautiful Amber stag Lanny's clip from JH Lloyd. To date, the best work of John's I've had. Have a good day everyone!
Lhpanther and Brett, the stag on your knives is incredible!

Good to see that black Powderhorn again, Duane! Nice keychain toolbox too!

I think this one is going to be in my pocket for a while. It just feels right, looks right, sounds right, tastes (?) right...

Satisfies ALL the senses, eh? It’s sensational!!

An Old Pal

6982532382_afd69c61b1_b.jpg

I went and got mine too Gevo !!!! As well as the 73 and 77 that are normally in my pockets . I really like this old Pal . Was a gift from a Granddaughter .

…Harry
Grand old Pals you have, Gev and Harry!! Seeing them in close proximity makes me think I don’t know anything about how bone jigging works for production folders. I’m surprised how many similarities there are in the jigging patterns on these 2 knives; I’d have probably expected either identical patterns or almost no similarity.

In between all the chaos going on lately with my father-in-law, I did get a few hours to go down to a semi-local knife show. I picked up this used but not abused Schrade Cut Co. I may mod it at some point, but for now it's a good companion in the pocket. Look at the width of the spring on the clip blade! It's about 1/8" thick and great snap...

...
Cool Schrade, Glenn! Any idea what the “H” on the shield means?

Steve, your green Farmer is awesome!

Gorgeous canoe, Peter! Is that a Queen?

Some beauties being posted today! I am totin' this Queen City Copperhead today. :D

That copperhead sure looks good, Ron; I always enjoy seeing it back in your pocket!

Found a moment and a shady spot for a quiet lunch on Wooden Wednesday. Here are today's grainy gents:

Is that Case sunfish jigged wood?? What a concept! And I recognize the Osage Orange Coyote that’s getting plenty of pocket time lately, but what’s the third knife, and what kind of wood is used on its splendid covers?

Wow! That is a brilliant color!

I carried this ebony Ancient Barlow today.

Very dignified, Dean!!

Forest Master was my firdt also- stays safe in knife / edc drawer!
I probably should retire mine from the rotation to eliminate the risk of losing it, but I only carry it (on a lanyard attached to my belt) for a week out of every 12 or 13 weeks, and I haven’t lost it in 50+ years so far.

Day 3 with this beauty. It's kind of just right for me, nice size, not so fancy that I'm afraid to use it at work, and it cuts like a champ!

Dynamite Dowell, Ben! :eek::thumbup:

...
I've been rushing about this week, trying to get my work done before I go away for a few days tomorrow :) Carrying this one today

Hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip, Jack. :) That's a cheerful Barlow you have!

Kris That Dam Böker is a smooth looking knife! Inspired me to carry my lower version carbon one with Washboard Bone. These are slim knives and I agree the action is oiled on them, before you even need to oil them! The blade is an excellent slicer too.

Very appealing, Will!

I decided to give this Fremont a little time in the pocket today.:)

Thanks my friend, after a couple of weeks of spring weather, rain is forecast for most of the weekend unfortunately :grumpy:

I have one of those Soddies in black, and they're a good working knife

Just packing for my trip, more knives than pullovers obviously! ;) The winners are Enzo Elver, Northfield Radio Jack, Tidioute #66, and Northfield US Navy Rope Knife! Think I've got all the bases covered :D

I'm not sure I'll get a chance to post while I'm away, so hope everyone has a good weekend. Here's a pic of Whitby in the sunshine
