What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Happened to be carrying my Nifebrite #71 Bull Nose yesterday. Something tells me now it's probably going to be her knife someday. :D

Here ya go GT. First appearance was back in early April of last year....

Thanks, Jake.

Davison #1201, ATS-34, Ironwood, 3-7/8", delicious.

Jake, that's another amazing Davison for you! Gonna display a Wheel of Davisons soon? ;) As someone who grew up on a farm, I'm curious about your occasional straw backgrounds; do you have livestock, or use straw for landscaping , or what??

Thanks, Gary. I have that same Buck canoe! Very well made knife.
I agree, Dean. I like the Buck canoes I have, wood and stag, and there are apparently some bone-covered versions out there, too, that I wouldn't mind tracking down some day.

Neat Barlow GT, I've got an old single shot 16 gauge with a Belknap Hardware stamp that I inherited from my grandpa on my dad's side. Speaking of Grandpa Bud I found one of his knives today at my parents house. It's a Schrade Walden 974. Buddy was a carpenter and a carver, I can see he got a lot of use from this little congress. It's a nice match for this big ole' beefy Queen 31 that I've carried for the past two days. I'll have to take some better pics later.
Thanks, Dr. M. That little congress is an awesome heirloom for you!

The #15 TC in Ebony finishing the work week off for me.

Very distinguished ebony TC, Dan!

Carrying a pair today; one long and elegant 2013 Irish Jack

Elegant is certainly an apt word to describe that one, Paul!

Yesterday and today I have this Rosewood Viper along.:D

Voluptuous Viper, Ron! The blade, the wood, the shield, the shape, the lanyard all work together!

Just trying to relax in the shade while my boy competes in his swim meet.

I enjoy seeing that simple, sincere Case, Travman!

Dipping my toe into the traditional pool. Got this Buck 309 just yesterday. He will be doing battle with a CV peanut to earn pocket time. :D

Looking forward to your assessment of the "playoff" between the Buck 309 and your Peanut, Gurdygurds!

Looks like a lot of miles on that venerable knife, Gev, and it looks capable of a lot more!

As usual for the weekend, I carry what my heart tells me to, not what my rotation schedule dictates! :D As is often the case, I often opt for a stockman Sat/Sun.

Gary
Its had a long life and still wants more:D I have not got it out in some time and needed to give it a spin. That sowbelly of yours is a stunner. I always wanted a vintage sow but so does everyone else;)

There are some great pictures in this thread but this one is the most beautiful by far. Congrats my friend!

That was an older pic from last year as well GT. I had gotten a bale of straw to put down in my girlfriend's dog's kennel for winter. I did however grow up helping at my grandpa's dairy farm and worked my first real paying job on a vegetable farm from age 14 to 18. I miss driving tractors all of the time haha.

I'll get an updated pic of the Davisons at some point. I don't have as many as you'd think, I've had a few come and go recently. (Other knives and hobbies call!)

Barrett, FYI you can get in a LOT of trouble putting knives on random babies! Most folks don't understand that babies make great backgrounds for our knife pic's. ;) Seriously, CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
I am stuck on this 99. I really like that it is so easy to open with one hand. I keep trying to close it with out releasing the lock though. :p

Gev - Your Valley Forge has held up wonderfully throughput it's years. A true sign of a quality product.

Voluptuous Viper, Ron! The blade, the wood, the shield, the shape, the lanyard all work together!

Gary - Thank you for the compliment and you are welcome my friend.;)

NW Madison Barlow today.

That is some mighty fine OO on that Big Barlow!:thumbup:

Thank you Kevin and GT.

After the week of carrying the presidential I figured I would change it up a little.
uaQKzQd.jpg

I feel weird carrying two slip joints at once, but it was hard enough narrowing it down to just two today.

Drew - That is a very nice IRJ. I love the pattern, but I hardly every carry mine for some reason

Thank you very much Ron :) That viper is beautiful, I don't have one yet but always very tempted!

Picked this up from Bob to venture a little out of my GEC comfort zone and don't regret it. Quality knife that served me well a few times hiking today

Thanks Jack, hope all is well with you.

Thanks Alan, I'll be OK when I find a new internet provider. My current service has been unusable this week :( Missing you all

My old Primble is with me today...

Now, where is that other old Primble? ;)

:D

I think I'm keeping up with this thread, and then, in the blink of an eye, I'm 3 days and 5+ pages behind!! Here are some of the highlights for me since sometime Tuesday, I think.

....

Handsome, hypnotic choices, Jack! Looking forward to your choice for your Knife of 2016; looks like it will be a real horse race for you!

I know the feeling GT, took me many hours to make this post, and not everyone's pics have loaded :( It's going to take some catching up when I eventually get online properly again, been a frustrating week :(

Thank you my friend, I am still very much under the spell of these two

Nice choices there

Looking good Ron

On a visit to Kirkstall Abbey ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirkstall_Abbey) yesterday

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

Paul - This one is truly special!

Yesterday and today I have this Rosewood Viper along.:D

Thanks Ron, nice viper my friend :)

That is a good looking knife, Paul! Don't usually see one patina'd up like that.

Thanks Dean, I've been using it since I first got it. Its an unusual piece that doesn't get out as much as it should

Cheers Gary! I'm always amazed at the amount of cutlery you can fit on your person throughout a day!

Now, where is that other old Primble? ;)

He must have caught an awful lot of fish by now! Unless, he hasn't caught anything and is just very very persistent!

.....when I eventually get online properly again, been a frustrating week :(

I know the feeling Jack. Out in the sticks here our connection is woeful. According to BT openreach we will be getting fibreoptic by 2022.

On a visit to Kirkstall Abbey ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kirkstall_Abbey) yesterday

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

A very attractive pair Jack :)

I have a couple myself today;

I bet you do Paul, it's notoriously bad. 2022 eh? I live less than a couple of miles out of the centre of Leeds, and on what they refer to as a hill in these parts, but for the past few weeks, all the mobile networks and internet connections have been terrible for me and my neighbours. My (soon to be ex-)service provider has been less than helpful :grumpy: Thanks for the compliment my friend, I hope you're having a lovely weekend. Hope I can get to see your knives at some point later :)

Edit - Later - Great choices Paul! :D

This was a spur of the moment purchase. I was going to pass on the #74's but when this popped up something about the color said 'yes'.

GT, you're welcome! I hope you're enjoying it!

I hope GEC does another run of those F&F #99's, they look great!

Excellent pair, Jack! I know the first has to be a Lambsfoot; what's the blade shape on the second knife? Spear?

Good looking Case teardrop, Paul! And an interesting little knife with the bagpiper on it!

Still carrying the #71 Bull Nose today.
