Thanks Gev, great to see all the Charlie's birthday knives :) Sadly, the cake is just a cyber-cake :( ;) :D

Spectacular photo Dan

It's my wonderful stepdaughters wedding day today.
I'll be carring something old.

Congratulations Mark, nice choice of carry

Smashing Gev :)

Stellar Tim

My internet woes have returned, and I'm having great difficulty uploading pics, and even viewing the site, but I've had these three with me the past couple of days. Hope everyone is having a great weekend

Super B-day gift from ADEE. Happy belated B-day!! Great composition.

Thank you sir. It was a few weeks back now.

I'd love to see some more images or info on that fine leatherwork sir?

JB - Such a great trio seeing you through. I cannot get enough of that fine Solingen Scout knife and it's superb awl!

Bonafide yard work for me today. Always a good excuse to use the 'Big Knife'.

This little IXL barlow has become a right regular pocket hog, 'incorrect' blade and all! (I prefer clips, this is a spear, and is perfect.)

Thank you, Meako, for the stamps!

Interesting mushroom photo, TA Davisons are always nice, and that third knife is cool!

Pure class

Thank you sir! It's one of my favorites.

Cool pic, Sarah. That's a nice little knife and the Australian Owl stamps are perfect for your Owl collection, and something we don't see everyday. Nice goin Meako.

Great knives everyone!

Today I went with a couple of smaller ones. A Northwoods Norfolk Whittler and a Vic Beginner.

Have a good one!

Always a treat to see that one Gary

Cool pic P

Thank you very much, I received the old Carl Schlieper from Duncan a few years back :)

Thanks Gary. The burled wood covers on that canoe and peanut are superb.
Thanks GT! I've had it for a couple of months but the little copperhead bone one generally commands my pocket time. Very nice wood on those Remingtons btw!
...
Thanks for the kind words, GT. This is a really great picture. The wood just glows, and the colors of the knife, shell, and pier have a very calming effect together. It makes me think of summer afternoons by the lake. Good job on this one!
Thanks, GT. I had to hang from one leg on a pecan tree limb to get that last shot just right.....I am kidding of course.....or ammmm I ? :D Nice pair of Remingtons, I like the burl.
Thanks for the comments on the Remington covers, Bob & Cannonball & Cory & FBC. :) The quality of some of the features of some of the inexpensive knives I pursue is amazing! FBC, I can easily imagine that to consistently get good photos, one must be acrobatic! ;) Cory, that photo is probably one of those "blind squirrel finding acorn" situations; I have quite a few knives now, and I've taken several pics of each, so out of all those shots, there's a high probability that a few will be good ones! :o I remember that I rushed through several quick shots of that Peanut with the sun setting. (That Remington Peanut is one of several peanuts or peanut-sized knives I now rotate with the Case Peanut I won a couple of years ago in your GAW, Cory. I used to always carry the one from you until earlier this summer when I needed a way to get the other peanuts I'd acquired some pocket time.)

Thank you Gary! The LF & C is my favorite this week:D
Thanks, Gary! Pretty full blades on that L, F & C; looks unused.
Thanks for the kind words, Gev & Dean. :) At 2.75" closed with relatively short blades, the LF&C is so small that I rarely use it, but it's an interesting old knife. (I have no idea how old, though.)

This old Remy whittler today

Very nice, Glenn! What's the purpose of the groove in the blade below and parallel to the long pull?

This unusual Camillus Tip Top Barlow...ebony scales and red enamel paint on the bolster lettering. Saw a picture of one a long time back but this is the only one I've ever seen. Don't know it's story.

That Tip-Top is top-shelf, Atiger!

GT always good to see that scrimshawed Rough Rider.

Hope your school year is going well buddy.
Thanks, Brett. :) As usual, the school year seems to be pretty hectic at the start as I try to figure out what my "routine" should be. (I also sometimes wonder if the old "Peter Principle" (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peter_principle) from the late 60s is a fundamental truth!) We didn't start until after Labor Day; I'll bet you've been going for quite a while already!

Today I had carried my newest and the one that I have had the longest .
Stag 72 = have had 2 or 3 days
Bone handled Ulster = have had since 1961

Harry
Impressive pair, Harry! Looks like you've sharpened that Ulster a time or two in the 55 years you've had it!

For the evening. Hope you all have a great weekend.

...
Hope you all have a great weekend. The 81 Stockman for me today.

Is one of these two your "birthday knife", Brett? That Northfield is SO elegant, and the flaming covers on the stockman are so memorable!:thumbup:

Had a little Copperhead #14 with me today. First time carrying this one.

Congrats on the maiden voyage of your Tiny Copperhead, Barrett!

Superb knife, Ron! I love the uniform patina on that spear; looks great with the black handles and shiny bolster!

Working across the country with this Cadet in pocket. Took the afternoon off to visit Niagara Falls.
Have a great Birthday Charlie!

...
I'm one of those really annoying morning people I'm afraid but it means I get to step out my door and see sunrises like this;

...
The discussion of case knives reminded me how much I love this one; which is now in my pocket

Dan and Paul, those are awesome, vibrant vista you've captured!:thumbup::thumbup: Paul, the bone on your Case is ALMOST as striking as that sunrise!

I am conducting a 25 vs. 26 comparison today.

...
Couple of stunning knives, Travman!! I'd like to hear the results of your research! ;)

It's my wonderful stepdaughters wedding day today.
I'll be carring something old.

Congrats to you and the happy couple, Mark; wonderful ceremonial blades you carried!

Carrying the Case-Bose WT today.

Notable pair, Gary!! :thumbup::cool:

It's a Curtain & Clark stamped knife ( one of Stephen's favorites )
.... this is it open ( excuse the bad photo )

That's an entrancing example of classic pocket cutlery, Gev!:thumbup:

Today Im carrying a ebony Presidential I picked up on the exchange recently. Fresh edge, ready to work.
...
Congrats on the Presidential, JaxBaron! That's certainly an appealing pattern!

...
I'm being on the level: this is my favorite light carry Barlow.

Looks like that Barlow is Tenderly Cared for, Dean! Nice composition that reminds me of my interest in palindromes. Is level level? Si!

Totin' no frills and all business today. Hope all have a good weekend.:D

Sorry to hear about your ongoing "tech wreck", Jack. :( That's a remarkable trio of knives you posted; I'd forgotten about that distinctive Davison you have!!:thumbup:

Sarah, that Barlow is aged yet arresting, elderly yet enduring, and vintage yet vibrant!:thumbup:
Your comments on the blade suggest it's time for an inspirational chorus of "I Saw the Light"! :D

This week I had an A Wright & Son stag lambsfoot senator and my Colonial Forest-Master on kitchen duty. But I have to admit that, for unknown reasons, I've been overwhelmed by nostalgia and have thoroughly enjoyed using my very first knife (the Forest-Master) almost exclusively for the past two weeks!

This one, a gift from a friend and member here on BFC is in pocket today and I think for a while too. It's a nice length single blade Clip that has a real narrow frame for a blade that big and it disappears into the pocket till you need it, thanks Scott. :)

Not so fast, Chief!

As I've said before and will again, a knife can only be truly understood in hand. This one works for me surprisingly well-- its size, and heft-for-size, are compelling, its snap remains impressive, etc.-- but that doesn't mean I wouldn't like a clip blade more. :p

;)

- GT

Very cool, Gary.
I don't know why I get nostalgic this time of year, too. (well, usually. It's still in the 90s, so not too autumnal, yet)

@GT

It's an honour to be congratulated in the same sentence as Niagra Falls, thanks GT! I think I got lucky with the bone, I really like case knives but I'm not able to buy my knives in person and the peenywaaly bone lottery tends to put me off but this one is as good as I've ever had from any maker - it's a beauty.
