A quick sunset shot...

That's a really beautiful Schrade. Any idea of the year / vintage? And yes, a couple more photos please.

I'm pretty sure that a knife with sunken joints will have blades with less height.

That's interesting, don't know enough about knife construction but I rather think it may be more to do with the type of frame used than sunk-joints ?

I suspect they are more complex to make and I regard them as a very desirable feature for the pocket. A knife-maker or connoisseur of construction methods will be able to comment better than I.

Taking a quick look round the collection, the CASE/Bose Norfolk, Swayback Jack both have totally sunk-joints and their Wharncliffes are broad relative to the frame.

I'll be carrying this 38 Whittler today, it has near sunk-joints and a big broad blade that fills the entire frame. One of GEC's best 3 blades and its backspacing is an impressive feat.

Tonight it's my EDC Ohta whittler and the Robeson whittler (by Queen in D2) that I had Hiroaki base it on. Once I got the main thinned down (Atoma 140 did a relatively quick job) it's a great little apple slicer :)

Old picture but thinking of making this my "real edc".. (along with Japanese marking knife at work)
Not many knives left in my collection.

Cool pic, I like the look of that sheath

Thanks Paul, I was just admiring your lovely Barlow in the Old Knives thread. Great-looking sunset pic too

Is that a new ebony Lambsfoot I spy? I like the grain pattern. It reminds me of advancing waves on a seashore.

It's actually walnut according to Wright's, a generous gift from Bonzodog a couple of months ago :) I've had a couple of the newer ebony Wright Lambsfoots, but they were bought as gifts for others. I'll have to get one myself :)

Classic Ron

I just switched from carrying a modern folder to a traditional, so this is my first post in this forum. A new to me 34OT I picked up at the flea market last weekend.

Welcome! I—along with many others here—am a big fan of the 34OT. In fact, I was carrying one yesterday. I hope you enjoy it.

Today, inspired by the wonderful Camillus Barlows shown recently by Dean and Ron, I'm carrying my sawcut delrin model:

I just got my first one of the delrin models myself a few months ago. Very well made Barlow and good looking!

That scout is absolutely exceptional. It's a work of art as much as it is a tool. I'd EDC that knife in a heartbeat.

Quite an impressive array of barlows posted today, gentlemen!
Ron, I will never get tired of seeing that Camillus and it's amazing bone!
Erik, I really like how the brass bolsters have patinated(?) on that GP.
