Man you could roast chestnuts from the fire that one is putting out:D

Beautiful Ulster goodness, Gev! :thumbup::thumbup:

Merry Traditional Christmas to all! :):)

Beautiful colors :D How could you not smile with those in your pocket. Thank you Sir!

I only have time for a quick post this morning, just wanted to wish everyone a very happy day  Great Ulster Gev

I have my Abbeydale and my Stan Shaw Sheepsfoot with me today, and a KK Peanut in MOP in my watch pocket

1966 Puma Bowie along with a trapper from Rick Menefee, caplifter by Vince, all in Sambar stag today

Love the Puma....made me go looking :D:D

Great photograph of your lovelies

Thanks Gevo, couldn't help thinking of GT as I grabbed the protractor. I've been looking for one of the Puma Bowies lately. How do the current models match up to the originals?

From what I'm seeing the originals look better made, much better stag, they had the high carbon steel ( newer ones -Im seeing 440C?), different sheath design. I'm just gathering info now. I will continue to look and I also wonder what Kris thinks?

Thanks Gary. Perfection often evolves from simplicity. ;) :D
I've really been admiring your Spanish wood handled knives lately. More simplicity.
Thanks, Bob; my Spanish knives have massive sentimental value for me, of course, but I do enjoy the knives as simple, functional knives, too. Inexpensive but effective knives from any era, culture, or country are one of the most interesting and rewarding aspects of this whole knife hobby for me.

Great bit of "detective work" GT (pun intended). Yes, I did position the tip to cover the "e". Early on, Charlie's TCs became know as Charlows and then it followed logically that Mikes 77 medium barlows became Marlows. I don't know who coined the phrase but Charlie himself used Marlow for Mike's medium barlows in this thread http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/1231878-GEC-77-Medium-Barlow-Impressions/page46 (see post #916).
Oh, man, I'd completely forgotten about the term "Marlow". :( Your picture is even better than I thought!

There's no flies on Gary. :D He's very thorough when examining posts and pics.
Thanks, Bob, but the previous and the next quotes indicate that there are at least a few flies on me every now and then!

...
I like your Texas Rangers Commemorative Colt Canoe.
...
Today's carry.

Holiday Wishes to all!

Dean and Ron, those ebony spear TCs are peerless Twin Charlows!
Dean, thanks for the Colt canoe comment. I'm obviously too much a baseball fan and not enough a US history buff! I kept looking at my buckshot bone canoe and wondering what the connection with the baseball team in Arlington TX was; I finally realized that your were referring to the ORIGINAL Texas Rangers! :o

Carrying my Puma Bantam today.

That's a premium Puma, Scott! What shape is the secondary blade?

Deep frying some turkeys at work today. The Bose is handling carving the one we are eating on here. Have a great day everyone.

Chris
That stag looks FANTASTIC next to the deep fried turkey, Chris!!

...And Merry Christmas to all. It's gonna be a white Christmas in SW colorado. As we head to Telluride.

one in each pocket, ready for anything

Both of those scouts look very capable, Steve; hope you have a safe and enjoyable trip!

New TC Barlow arrived yesterday, and in the watch pocket today. This is my first TC, and I like it a lot already!

Thanks, Gary! 'Tis the Season. :)

Great week of knives!!
...
'Tis indeed, Dee; hope you're enjoying the season!
Thanks for the compliment on my carries this week. :)

Excellent pic of the Radio Jack, Jack! (What's the "Bread Badge"?)

Enjoy the holidays gents!
Same to you, Dan! Have I been missing you on The Porch, or am I just not paying attention? :o

...
Gev, have a great Christmas. Chop wood, carry water:D
...
Kris was being very insightful with his comment. It's all a happening as Alan Watts was fond of saying

http://www.ericdowsett.com/chop-wood-carry-water/
Kris, I didn't "get" your comment, but Google helped me out. And then Gev's link was also very enlightening! ;) I actually really like the philosophy expressed by that "chop wood carry water" advice.

Cool Wiseman, dogs coin, and message, Dee!
(Hey, wait a minute, did I almost miss a Christmas pun there?? Some of us probably need you to be less subtle; do you have THREE Wiseman knives?? :D)

...
My knife for 2016 (Red) and a gift from Dee (Green). Christmas colors?

Seasonal colors on sentimental knives - definitely a winning combination, Dean!

...
Merry Traditional Christmas to all! :):)

And a completely different pair of Christmas color TCs the next day! Each day, Two Charlows Tinted Christmasy!

It's the weekend, and I'm carrying my weekday knife? Haven't encounter a chore too big yet.

Love that peanut, rishma, and that 15 cents could have bought one (or more) cup of coffee when they were new. (Maybe even a knife?)

For the first night of Hanukkah tonight:

For Christmas tomorrow:

I'll also have my SAK Mini-Champ for use by my non-knifely friends. Unlike these two, it's replaceable, plus it's got a little bottle opener. :D
I admire your holiday planning, Rachel! That's a very attractive and useful line-up you've lined up! ;)

i felt like something white

That pearl Ulster is magnificent, Gev!

I have my Abbeydale and my Stan Shaw Sheepsfoot with me today, and a KK Peanut in MOP in my watch pocket
...
And your pearl Peanut is also magisterial, Jack!

I had a fake MOP pen knife when I was a lad; I think it may have been a gift from my parents when I graduated from 8th grade, and I only carried it to church a couple of times each Sunday. But I have no idea what happened to it, and that's one of my major regrets in life. :(
I think I need to look for something that can serve as a replacement!
