What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Took SWMBO into work this morning and checked out the Car On The Ice that became the Car In The Water , that is now the Car IN The Ice and Water
Had a little removal project when I got back home . Had these with me when conducting said project. 72 Lockback and 73 Linerlock

Harry

As always Harry, so fine!

That is a very nice knife. I have an RR in white bone also, (maybe even two [emoji56]). But have thought about getting a few more, and looking up some easy scrimshaw for beginners instruction. May be something interesting to try with my boy. Now i just need to get off my back side and see if I can get my son to try something off the wall with his old man.

Sent from my mind....using Tap-a-Thought. (tm)

That would be awesome. I thought about trying some scrimshaw on this one, but my artistic skills leave much to be desired.

Brand new to me, another 251208 in stag.

Beautiful knife, Mr. Alan.

The Case is staying in the rotation for now, but I have run into some rather annoying aspects of Case's design. Stay tuned. I'm working on a post that details the scout's main design elements, and their execution by various US manufacturers.
Sounds fascinating, Buzz; looking forward to your review.

Gary - ... It's always great to see the 85!

Today I have gone a little exotic! #55 Houndstooth, Exotic Mexican Bocote, Wharncliffe. This is actually the very first Great Eastern Cutlery produced knife that I purchased! My bank account hasn't been the same since!:D Have a great Sunday everyone! :)

Thanks, Ron; that 85 was/is a grail knife for me. Cool to see your FIRST GEC - what a looker!

...
Thanks GT, there are a lot of different strains, but outbreaks are becoming extremely common here, particularly in the winter months. Your family definitely don't want it! You'll have to come with them next time, and we can hang out :) I am grateful for the kind words, as always. Excellent choice there

I'm still not on good form unfortunately, but have a couple of old reliables with me. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday

Thanks for the "epidemiology report", Jack. :) Another pair of enjoyable knives-and-water pics!

Congrats on your recent Canal Street Forum Knife acquisition, Alan!

...
Gary, your Sanrenmu looked too big for comfort in your photo, but 3" sounds just right.

I used to have a rainbow of Cadets, but I sold off the Blue one and Orange (now I wish I hadn't sold the Orange). I think I saw a new post on SAKs here and it reminded me that I have several of them - over 40. I like the alox ones the best, so I decided to carry some different ones for a few days and then pick one to carry daily - it will probably be one of my Cadets as summer is coming.

That buffalo horn 85 looks scrumptious; what do you think of buffalo horn as a handle material?

Today's carry is an Ancient TC and an Alox Bantam.

Great photo of a pair of classy knives, Dean! Over 40 SAKs is impressive!:cool: I like the glistening black of buffalo horn, and the variability in the amount of lighter "feathering" from one example to the next is engaging; it's very smooth though and I wonder if there's a "slippery when wet" risk.

That's a first-rate old Case, Ken.

Splendid chestnut jigged swayback jack, major_works!!

Thanks GT, it felt great to find my lost sheep, but more to confirm I hadn't started losing my marbles just yet. I had a couple libations Saturday just to confirm the radio jack was still functioning;). Nice carries , the Otter looks especially slicey, is that blade fairly thin stock?

With me this snowy Monday:

Good to hear that the Radio Jack still worked. The Otter is a heavy-duty knife, solid as a rock. The blade isn't particularly thin (nothing like an Opinel) but it slices well. As usual, an admirable daily double you're carrying.

...
I made it over to Sheffield and back today :) Gave my dentist his retirement presents. He gave me a couple of new crowns. Carried this IXL :)

Sturdy I*XL, Jack! (Any water in that shot?) Congrats on the new crowns; hope you're not the Jack who fell down and broke his crown!:D

Brand new to me, another 251208 in stag.

Whoa, that's outstanding stag, Alan!

...
I went with a darker theme today.

...
Terrific looking pair Dean. Go figure, I carried these two today.

Very distinctive dark duos, Dean and Ken!

You ---> AWESOME, your friends ---> AWESOME, your knives ---> AWESOME, EVERYONE'S ---> AWESOME!!
...
Thanks, Dee. :) (Is this a veiled request for a copy of my BF "thesaurus"??;))

Thought I'd carry some stag today :)

Enviable stag covers, Jack!

Thanks Pt-Luso.
That's the one to carry Harry. I can't bring myself to use mine, but it does come along occasionally.
Thanks Gary. The stag on this 25 has richness without being too gnarly.

Thought I'd carry some stag today :)

Those are both very fine knives, Jack.

Thanks, Gary! I think you have the epitome of the Cadet there! I like that it has another blade instead of the nail file.

A junior scout and Farmer Jack went to lunch; which is where I am going now.

Sturdy I*XL, Jack! (Any water in that shot?) Congrats on the new crowns; hope you're not the Jack who fell down and broke his crown!:D

Thanks for the compliments my friend, nice carries  That is Sheffield Town Hall viewed from the 'Peace Gardens, and actually there are several fountains and water features between the knife and the building! :D I hope not too, I wish I wasn't the Jack Who Bit Down On A Crusty Piece of Italian Bread too! :eek; :D

Great pics JP, I'm glad to see the sun is shining for you, as it is. Paris in the Spring time :)

Thought I'd carry some stag today :)

Nice stag Jack (love the way that shield sits) :)

The Otter is a heavy-duty knife, solid as a rock. The blade isn't particularly thin (nothing like an Opinel) but it slices well.

Thanks for the info GT, great looking electrician too

Nice shot!

An Enzo Necker on board for me today, handy knives and very lightweight.
