What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Have all three of these guys with me today. Just because. (Recycled pic)

Ah, the beginning of fern season, the north side of my house is loaded with them, I call this the alien stage, then they unfurl and it looks like a prehistoric forest. :)

r8shell, that's one of the nicest examples of the 2014 BFC annual, I love the color of your stag.

Wilson I love seein' them Yellow Rose knives, how many different patterns did they do? I recall a Trapper but I could be mistaken. Always reminds me of the trip to Texas I made with the Mrs the year before we got married. It was the first time we had spent 24 hrs a day with each other and no one else for 10 days. We figured if we didn't kill each other in 10 day with only each other for company, we'd be ready for marriage. We came close a few times but that was 35 years ago so I guess the proof was in the pudding.

We suffered multiple truck problems, the truck bein' hit by lightning, floods in Huston dead battery in Texarkana, luckily we had a motorcycle chained to the back of the truck :). Unluckily the key to the case hardened lock and hardened chain was 1,300 miles back home in Jersey.

Case heavy today.

How is that Mini Copperlock, I've always wanted to try that one out, I received a Copperhead from a member here and I have fallen in love withe shape, what do you think of the thinner, smaller single blade lockback?

That D'Holder is exquisite, they both compliment each other and it was worth it to leave them in the quote to see again. Thanks for sharin'

Brought my Remington Whittler to work today!

There's one I've never seen, (Splitback?) Whittler with all spear/pen shaped blades, :) very cool.

Camillus C4 saw scout as usual. It's soooooo nice to have a smaller secondary blade on a scout.

Is there a chance I could see the other blades? I'm presuming that they call it a Saw Scout because one of the other blades is a double cut wood saw like on the SAK Alox Farmer.

I love the way Queen does the Stockman series, I have the smaller medium stickman in burnt stag, it's one of my favorite watch pocket knives.

Here it is with a few of my other medium stockman's and the Queen Serpentine Jack.

Swayback Jack was with me today

Don''t ya just love the Swayback Jack Andi, it's the perfect alternative to a peanut, fully capable of 99% of most cuttin' tasks, wouldn't it be nice with a little bail on the back ? :)

Bill, what do you think of the color on the tribal? I bought mine based on the Case pic which is always a crap shoot. And, now Case has delivered all the different covers ahead of schedule. I'm a little perturbed. But it is what it is.

It's definitely darker than the Case stock pics. It's actually a good bit darker than my pic. It's not what I had hoped but I don't dislike it.

I'm more aggravated about the blade almost rubbing. I have RR's & SAK's that are centered but for some reason Case can't get theirs right. It doesn't have to be dead on centered but at least make an effort.

Sorry for the mini-rant.

Yes indeed. The C4 comes with a saw blade similar to a Vic Farmer. It also comes with a scalloped sheepsfoot. I ground my sheepsfoot down to a plain edge.

For lots of nifty details on the saw scouts, followed this link:

Y'all gonna make me want to track down one of those. Great looking knives there.

Thank you Tony Bose for this bent gunstock pattern.
This prototype has been in my pocket for a while.
It seems strange posting with the new format.......everything changes I guess:)

She's a beaut, Clark.

I hope I am not speaking too soon but I may have an opportunity to meet Tony and Tom ploppart tomorrow.

Got a fresh edge on the cattle knife for today's carry.

I know a few others have given this one due praise. But just wanted to add my twopence and say this is a truly stunning knife. Never seen one before. Please forgive my ignorance John, but was this a special run or a beautiful anomaly within the old barn chest nut release?

Greetings from beautiful Vienna Austria! I'm here for a week of business meetings. I'm not carrying anything today, or for the rest of my trip for that matter. Out of curiosity I checked their laws before leaving. They are quite liberal/rational about 'weapons' unlike most of the EU, but I didn't want to risk anything valuable in the checked luggage. (I did pack a CRKT Little Guppy multi-tool. Quite a handy device. I won't get Frank worked up with a pic ;), but look it up if you like that sort of thing.)

I'm making up for this self induced drought by enjoying the food and beer (bier). I will tell you that we've got nothing on the Austrians when it comes to sausages, cheese and brews, and that's coming from a Wisconsin boy.:D I'll try to post pics of the breakfast spread on the Porch.
