A knife that's been a constant companion since the mid 80s. The first custom I ever bought and I was so glad I got this one. Not only is it by a notable maker, it's such an iconic pattern and one as old as knife making with steel itself.

Bud Nealy Aikuchi in blued O1 with dovetailed black linen micarta on a distal tapered tang. I've put this knife through it's paces in the nearly 30 some years by my side and never once had a doubt as to its abilities.

Great knife, Ted. I put mine out for tomorrow's carry. Aikuchi in CPM-154 and Olive wood. Love this knife!

He makes a sexy knife, I need to stop up and visit him in the shop between shows this summer. He's always very welcoming when you stop up to visit, never makes you feel like you're bothering him, plus he loves to see his old knives. That one was 553, I don't even know what he's up to now, 553 was back in the mid 80s.

Thanks for sharin' Gary. :)

Thanks Ted. I'd say Bud's made a few. This one is marked 5724! I think I got this one in 2011.

You're building up quite a pile of impressive whittlers, Greg!
...
Did you pick up any indigenous Mediterranean cutlery on your recent travels?

Thanks, GT. I do enjoy exploring the variations on the pattern. :)

No, I didn't have a chance to seek out any proper local cutlery shops, so the only knives I saw were uninspiring souvenirs. Perhaps the next time I travel abroad I'll do some research on the local cutlery ahead of time.

Those are both beauties Ted and Gary! Can't seem to get a multi quote from the previous page? Anyway; You guys are going to have me looking at fixed blades if I'm not careful

Great set of pictures Paul! Love the shots of both knives on the stained wood!

Lots of great pics folks :)

I've not seen this many plumbers since Dick Nixon left The Whitehouse! :D ;)

Great to see your Nealy knives Gary and Ted

Got these two with me today :) Have a great week everyone

Looking good again today Jack! Very funny quote about plumbers above!:thumbsup:

I just noticed the etch and tang stamp on your stockman, Jack. I don't think I've ever seen a Schrade Wostenholm before. Very cool!

Do you know whether they had an ongoing relationship? Or was this a special collaboration?

Thanks Greg, I know quite a bit about those knives, not least since my former brother-in-law was an apprentice cutler when they were made. There are a few threads about them. That Stockman was a standard Wostenholm pattern, but after Imperial took over the Rodgers-Wostenholm-Richards group (1977-1982), several knives were produced, the parts for some of them being made by Camillus. They included a Gunboat Canoe, made for the NKCA (I am grateful to SP for the example below). An interesting piece of cutlery history, and decent knives too I think

I've previously posted quite a few images in the old catologues sticky, here's a couple of them
