What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Carrying my ankermesser. I actually sold one on a lot before, but started missing it so I bought another one but this time in stainless. It's very robust knife and a good workhorse with strong spring but slightly rough around the edges so to speak. And because of that I did some sanding; evened the bolsters and rounded the handle even further to silky smooth grip. Cleaned the insides with wd40, then lubed the joint and gave some mineral oil for the wood. Feel so good in the hand.

Did not knowthey made a stainless version of this.
I have an older model in carbon steel & no hole in the handle.

I don't know how long they have been making the stainless version but they seem to have increased their offering of knives recently (such as all the variations of mercator knife).

Or if my father-in-law's favorite knifes. The Canal Street Cannitler. He really loved carrying this one.
The Cannitler was a great pattern. The one we had for the 2007 BF knife is one of my favorite yearly knives. I can totally understand his admiration for it.

Queen Rail Splitter in D2 and ACSB (Amber Cut Stag Bone).
The walk and talk on this is terrible, due to poor machining of the tang cams. But the rest is well designed and immaculately made and fitted, so it still sees pocket time.

Special, indeed!
GT Thank you for the warm thoughts. I recall you saying not too long ago something to the effect you didn't know quite what to do with a Barlow. Glad to see you rocking that beaut today!...
Just carry it spine up....;):D
That Barlow is sweet piece!
Good on ya, Jake!

Bob, r8shell, Tom, & FBC, thanks for the kind words about the 77 Barlow. :)

It's become a feature. Winchester Black Box Swell-Centre Pen, one of my mainstays.

Excellent ankermesser, A.L.

A couple hours into day 3 of a 3-day estate sale halfway across the state, and the top two knives were still there, marked $3 for the Ulster scout and $8 for the Camillus jack. But it was50% off day. Dame Fortune was pleased to smile on me.

Congrats on the good knives and the good deal, Jer!

Attractive knives, Pt-Luso. I find the blade stamps on each of them fascinating!

That's a glorious cannitler, Buzz! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

As always, I had a chestnut bone CV Case SBJr in my pocket (thanks, Bob). And having carried a couple of sowbellies all week, I paired it up with a related sowbelly stockman (thanks, Ron).
