What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

You're a man of your word, Tom! They're both admirable pairs, but I think I probably like this one a little better just because I like the dark BSK (and lanyard) better than the light one.:cool: (And you can make another couple of striking "matched" pairs, rather than contrasting ones, if it strikes your fancy; the mind boggles at the possibilities! :D)

Canoe of the Week is also my horny/staggy knife, Marbles ram's horn canoe:

Thanks for the well-wishes for my niece GT, much appreciated! That is some cool looking stag on the Marbles :cool:

Regarding combinations, please let me know if this is correct: I have 9 small fixed blades that I would pair with any one of 20 different folding knives, so without repeating and one fixed blade to folder, 180 possible combos right?

Today I am carrying a custom SAK.

Will Power, great looking 38 Special! I just ordered one, wasn't going to until I saw this photo.

Jamie & marsturm, thank you both. Hopefully you will get a nice grained one too.

The 38 is one of my favourite GEC frames, it now has Wharncliffe, Pruner, Clip & Turkish Clip as master blades and Pen, Spey and Coping as secondaries. I wonder if they could get a Drop-Point into this frame too? I think it would be possible. At first, I disdained the 38 Special, thought the line drawings made it look puny and a waste of opportunity. Certainly don't mind admitting I was wrong here. It carries very 'quietly' in the pocket being slim, a semi-sunk joint is another plus aspect too. The Turkish Clip blade is broader than I thought so it is not absurd looking, very nice smooth pull although snap on mine is a bit tame. Extremely good quality, no gaps, play, centre blade, great finish all round.

I do think the 38 frame offers more room for interpretation though. A standard Penknife form of large Clip and Pen would be immensely popular, the frame shape is such an elegant Serpentine shape, Seahorse style. And, were it to have stainless blades and liners and Rat-Tails then it would be the grail custom of all times for me:cool:

Here's some more evidence of Bocote Magic...

There's a version of the #38 with a Wharncliffe main? I must have missed that. :(
Your Bocote is mesmerizing.

I tried to take a picture of my Wooden Wednesday knives this morning, but the cat had to get on the stump for belly rubs and I finally gave up. :D20170607_083853-1_resized.jpg
