What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That's a fabulous looong-pull spear on your vintage Remington, Steve!:thumbsup:

Such a lovely jack knife, Atiger!!:thumbsup:

Definitely the right tool for the rare job, r8shell!!:cool::thumbsup:

Great photo of your knife (GEC #74?), Gev, and I enjoyed the jazzy video rendition of the song. Coincidentally, the backdrop of your photo reminds me of my recently-completed vacation. Huge orange full moon rose at dusk on the second day we were there, and I spent a substantial amount of time chasing poopy geese from the lawns of the cottages where we were staying.

Ron, that Case Damascus coffin jack is scintillating!!:cool::cool::thumbsup: Sounds like you and Pam squeezed a lot of good times and memories into your Rendezvous trip! :) Thanks for straightening me out on the trade with Harry, but it still seems consistent with your generous nature! Harry probably would have traded that old 77 Barlow for almost any edged tool (he probably didn't even have room for it in his Northfield Barlow display stand anyway ;)), yet you didn't take advantage of him and gave up a rare LH 73 in trade!!:D:thumbsup:

Thanks for the 72 compliment and for the hay bale confirmation, Jack; the baler twine placement and composition is much different than my first-hand experience 50 years ago in the American Midwest!

Quite a handful of steel (but no hickory ;))!:thumbsup::thumbsup: Vic Pocket Pals are such pleasant knives!

Thanks for the Keen Kutter stag info, Stuart; that knife was exceptional!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Your coke bottle hunter is looking much better at 100+ than I am at 65!!:thumbsup::D

First day back at work in over two weeks. I'll post photos of the 3 knives that were on my desk when I got in this morning.

You are correct @5K Qs Gt . The rack that I made for the 77 Northfield Barlows has slots for an EDC plus one for every day of the week . As you can now figure out , 8 slots . I had 9 of the 77 Barlows . I traded Ron 2 absolutely perfect ones for the LHL 73 and a White Bone Powder Horn . I walked away happy with 2 that I have never had . A left handed knife and a Powder Horn. I will get another 77 Barlow someday to have at least 8 again .

I have been sick with a nasty summer cold the last few days, been having fun catching up this morning though, great carries everyone!

The #66 is the bomb. It helped me work on some tools which aren't finished yet, but believe me they were dirtier than this a little while ago. I thought this made for a good photograph with the tools in the crate. It's the perfect size for the tools and any other odds and ends. If you have been thinking about getting a 66 then please treat yourself to It! You deserve It!

Great pictures everyone! The #15 BF knife is on the way!!!!

Gross! Knife looks good though ;)

I've seen quite a few of those huge slugs (as well as their shelled cousins) crawling around here. The evening we arrived at my brother's place, I picked up a snail from outside and put him in the kitchen sink while no one was looking. It made for a good laugh when my sister-in-law went to wash her hands. :D

Carrying my #25 again today.

LOL! Loving your pics Barrett :)

The scales on that Keen Kutter are stag, GT. I like how they used the smoother piece for the shield/mark side and the gnarlier piece for the pile side.

As some of my earlier postings have illustrated, I am fond of old Coke bottle folding hunters. This one is by Continental Cutlery Company which, I understand from threads in this and other forums, was related to Robeson Cutlery and was in existence around 1914-1920.

Sorry for the glare. I was outside waiting for the eclipse (80% in our neck of the woods) to arrive.

A few more Coke bottle folders that are slightly related to the others that I have posted (or I think that they are related). Left to right: Hammer Brand (no NYKC stamp, "188" stamped on pile side) 1938-1941 based on Hammer stamp; OVB (mark side) Hibbard Spencer Bartlett & Co (pile side) 1884-1969?; Ulster Knife Co N.Y. (mark side) 1876-1941 based on stamp; Harris Bros & Co Chicago, IL. (mark side). The Hammer and the OVB-HSB are almost identical (including length of blade swedge - to end of nail mark) as the NYKC/Hammer Brand that I previously posted. I understand that OVB-HSB may have used Ulster Knife as a supplier, but the Ulster here has a most unusual blade with a short, but deep swedge and a lock-back feature. I have carried all, but the Harris Bros. Have only used the NYKC Hammer on a deer, though.
