What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today with my new knife (although old) with the hands in horn of bovine, this Portuguese made by a craftsman from the village of Especiosa-Miranda do Douro, who has the son to continue his work.
The knife in stag is of the son that follows the lines of the father!!!

Wow! Those are beautiful knives. The jimping of the top edge and the match strikes on the nail marks (plus the extra nail marks on the father's knife) are unique.

Thank you Mr. Stuart, there are indeed two beautiful knives.

Cool pics Paul :)

Here's mine today. Headed downtown to the Italian Fest with a Case/Bose Norfolk and my AG Russell pinched peanut.

Nice pic of those two lovelies Gary :) Italian Fest sounds like fun, have a great time

Very attractive pairing Jack

Thanks Tom, another outstanding pair my friend

As my daddy used to say, I was showin out today with this Ivory Broadway Jack!

Good to see you Perry, very stylish

Had a heck of a week here, be glad when it's done! These two are keeping me company today

I just got an old Primble, and I'm going to carry it today and decide if I want to fix it up or leave it as is. :)

Dandy equal-end Primble, r8shell!

These two for me today

Dapper pair, Jack!

Dazzled by your dark Cadet on bivouac, Steve!

Decadent SBJr, Bob! :thumbsup::cool:

The SAKs are a delight to see, GT, but the Taramundi is captivating - simple beauty crafted simply.
Danke schön, Stuart. :) (German thanks for an English comment about a Spanish knife - how cosmopolitan is The Porch? :D)

Its a cool little knife for sure. The smaller blade is an odd pen style maybe? It has a sharper drop to the tip like a lamb foot but a belly to the cutting edge like a pen.

Yeah, thats it! A tiny spey!

Matt
Thanks for the pic to illustrate that decent little spey secondary, Matt.

Most likely that knife lived a life on the farm. They probably used grinding wheel to sharpen it.

This is what it looked like before I cleaned it up.

That makes sense. I used a Colonial Forest-Master multiple times each day for at least 8 years growing up on a dairy farm, and had very little wear on the blade. But I never tried to sharpen it on the electric grindstone that we used for most of our sharpening (lawn mower blades, scythes, hay mower blades, etc.)

Was going to save these for Sabre Saturday, but will use for wooden Wednesday. A Sabre GESCUT 29 Barlow ("24" is stamped on the pile-side tang, but it is clearly a large Barlow, which is 29/629 in Sabre-speak) and Sabre 45 Hawkbill, both JAPAN. Want patina??

Delectable duo, Stuart; the pruner handles are especially distinguished!:cool:

5K Qs 5K Qs ; Gary, I believe it's officially called a dogleg pattern.
Thanks, Bob. Those tapered frames, skinny on one end and fat on the other, look deluxe to me! Ron's and Will's whittlers below are dynamic examples!:cool:
Wooden Wednesday Willamette Whittler in Cocobolo today :)

Camillus made advertising knife for today!
Desirable penmanship on that one, Ernie!! That's what Mr. TenBrink was trying to teach me almost 60 years ago. ;)

...
I haven't but it is on my list of "must sees" now :)

I dig that electrician GT, very nice.

For me today, a custom that needs a cleaning and a Winchester scout.

Delightful pair, Tom; the French Ivory scout looks dependable! Thanks for the electrician compliment. Be warned that Marnie is NOT a romantic comedy!

Distinguished knife, FBC!:thumbsup: A dilemma for me: what is that pattern called? Ettrick? Pruner?

Thanks, GT. Beautiful wood on that Taramundi!

Carried this one again today (and probably tomorrow, too).

Thanks, Barrett; I agree that the charred boxwood on the Taramundi is quite distinctive. :) I admire your devotion to the micarta 25!

...
I always enjoy seeing your Spanish knives, GT. Especially knowing how much they mean to you.
...
I had these three with me today, either in my pocket or lounging about on my desk.

Thanks for acknowledging my Taramundi, Dylan; I certainly do enjoy my souvenir and gift knives more than some of my more prosaic "I want that one" purchases. ;) Your 3-knife tower of power is dynamite!:cool::thumbsup:

Another distinguished A Wright and Son lambsfoot!! Congrats, lambertiana!:cool::thumbsup:

Thank you my friend, I also think they may have got the stag back to front! :D I've always liked your pics of your Cadet, and the intriguing bottle-opener, and it is a treat to see that lovely Taramundi yet again :)
...
I'm carrying these two today

Thanks for the good words, Jack. With my slavish devotion to my rotation schedule, you can count on each of my knives showing up periodically. :D
The color coordination of your pair is noteworthy!!:cool::thumbsup:

Neat knife, Travman, especially in the way the covers actually remind me of a peanut shell!:thumbsup::rolleyes: Dee's pair below has a peanuty look-n-feel, too.:cool:

Whittler Wed... err, it's Thursday already.

Well, still whittlin my way through a pear.:D

Nice, Tom, whatever day it is!;)

The bevy of beauteous Barlows begged for and bolstered my selection of this for today's carry: Case Pattern 43 Daddy Barlow from 1978. Glad I'm wearing my big pockets pants today.

This Robinson office knife has the best looking bone covers in my entire collection!
Definitely notable bone, Ernie!! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

- GT

No sir GT. A forum member is getting into knife modding so I let him practice on my 99. I'm extremely happy with the final outcome.
