Wow! That knife has some mileage on it!!

The carries for the past couple days!
...09-20-17 - Bret Dowell Native in Barbed Wire Micarta + a Reese Bose Gent no.9
...
Each and every one of those knives is amazing, Tim!!

I'm going to single out the jigging on this R. Bose as being especially noteworthy!

...
Indeed. Now I'm on the lookout for a full sized horn-handled Chilean folding knife.
Best wishes for your South American quest!

Love the way that yellow pops GT.

I need to get serious about finding a GEC yellow rose.

GT, according to information I gathered from reference material by John Goins and Richard Langston, respectively, the Presto was made by the George Schrade Knife Company, Bridgeport, CT, a company founded and run by George Schrade from 1929 until his death on September 9, 1940 (his son, George, and grandson, Theodore, continued running it until selling it to Boker in 1956). George had founded the Press Button Knife company on New York City, NY, in 1893. The Presto is an automatic opener (switchblade) based on a push button "safety knife" that he developed in 1906 with his brothers, Jacob and William, at the Schrade Cutlery Company, Walden, NY. The M-2 Paratrooper shown is a Presto model sold to the U. S. military under a WWII contract.
Probably more than you wanted to know.
- Stuart
Not more than I wanted to know, but definitely more than I hoped for!

Thanks for all the details, Stuart!
Cheers GT. Yes, that's a handy use for the bail as well, although reading your comment did give me a surreal image of you, sporting sagging chinos, chain hangin' from your belt to your pocketknife, swaggering through those halls of academia like an O.G.!

...
Well, if O.G. means Old Guy, you've got quite an accurate mental picture, Chin!

(Although my gait is more "stagger" than "swagger" these days!

)
Interesting photos of the grenade launchers. My ability to read German has all but disappeared from disuse over the past 50 years, but it looks like the "plumb bob" SAK is used to measure angle of inclination??
Is that like a Pocket Pal without the small pen blade?
Enchanting pic, Greg!!

You should do a retrospective exhibition of all of your knife photos taken at this location!

...
Timeless photo, Gary.
Today's carry.
Thanks, Dean.

Instantly recognizable jigging on your TC!

...
I've had this one with me today

Friday night here. Have a good weekend everyone
What a racy knife, Jack!!

Memorable micarta, Dee!

What's the background??
Superb blade shape on that one, The Fort!!

Is that a custom?
I like it when one finds tools to use over and over and over again.

Dandy dark duo you have there, HST!! Matching lanyards is a nice touch!

Great-looking knives, r8shell, but remember that they're both examples of invasive species!!

...I took this the other night while I was CF & CE the pinched peanut, in front of the boob tube. I'd spent some time honing the edge on a leather strop earlier.
Cool photo, Gary!

Reminded me of an old Sunday School song: This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine!
I have these two Case Chestnut CV knives with me this weekend! A Peanut and a SBJ that I rescued from the big auction site. The Peanut just this week and the SBJ probably three or four years ago.
Unbeatable chestnut CV pair, Ron!! Congrats on the new Peanut!!

Terrific twosome, Dee!

I'll bet I can guess what day of the week it is.
...
Today's carry, a difficult knife to leave home!
I admire the audacity of your sheepfoot TC, Dean, wandering among the bison!

Very attractive knife, Paco!

New phone so new camera, can’t tell if it is better or worse

. Carrying these two today.
Impressive pair, Tom!

I don't know if your new camera is better or worse, either, but to me, the stones look drier (not as shiny) and the knife blades look a bit "brighter"?

(Don't pay much attention to me though; you've seen MY pics!

)
This was my second week of a new category added to my weekly carries: my K.N.I.F.E. (Knife's New - I'm Feeling Exuberant) Knife for this week is a navy blue bone SS Case mini copperhead:
In the kitchen this week (stop me if you've heard this before

), I've been using an Okapi Sable and a Case yeller CV pen knife:
