What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Had these in my pockets to start the day . Henckles and Cattaraugus

Then this Old Cutler came in the U.S. Mail completely from Out of the Blue ( Blue in this case is North Dakota ) from one of the other Legends of this forum , Paul Hilborn . ( some terrible inside photos I'm afraid ) . Now they are all in my pockets .

Paul knows very well that I like Stag of all shapes and sizes . There is no Bad Stag .
There is no doubt that this is the 2 best Stag on Barlows that I believe that I have .

The inside photos are the cause of the Yellow Shade on the Stag .

Ah! glad it arrived Harry, I know you had a bad postal experience of late and felt some good STAG may ease your sorrows bit:) it's an old barlow but clad with great covers. I freshly sharpened it so it should be ready right outta the gate;):D

Thanks, Jack. Your TC is a looker too.

Thanks a lot Dean :) :thumbsup:

Lambs and Unicorns for me today! :)

Those two look good together Ron :thumbsup:

Thanks Jack! The lambsfoot looks great with your TC :thumbsup:

Thank you my friend :) :thumbsup:

Thanks for the affirmation, Jack. :) With regard to meals, I'm somewhat concerned that I sometimes spend more time deciding what knife to use than I spend deciding what to eat! :rolleyes:

Stuart, you certainly have an impressive cache of vintage knives from which to choose!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool::cool:

Looking good, Ace! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Dean, the Schrade Barlow has VERY distinctive jigging, so I'm not surprised at the comments. :cool::thumbsup: Thanks for your positive comments on my knives. :) Great photo of a desirable slip/knife combo; didn't realize "TC" could stand for "To Church"! :thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Thanks for correcting my knife ID, SP :eek::thumbsup:; I'd better look at pics more carefully! :rolleyes:

Thanks, Stuart. :) I used a $2 plastic-handled serrated steak knife as my "kitchen knife" for decades, so any of my folders is a step up in functionality! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup: When I use a folder, the majority of the time, I only need to rinse and dry the blade. Even when the cutting is messy, I've never run into problems with washing the entire knife with soap and water, and drying immediately (including running a folded paper towel up and down the blade well a couple of times to dry it out).

:D:D

Thanks for trying, mykel! :thumbsup::)

:cool::thumbsup::)

Cool post, Gev! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

:thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

You're a good spouse, Clay! :thumbsup::cool:;) I thought that was one of those old-fashioned tin ceilings at first! :eek::thumbsup:

Quite the contrasting pair, Jack: one flamboyant, one dignified! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:;)

Thanks for brightening up Monday with your citrus Farmer, Tom!! :thumbsup::D:cool:

Very unusual, but fascinating! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Phenomenal pair, Gary!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Is the Wharncliffe trapper full size or a mini?

I pictured donn hiking about with that steel strapped to his back! :D:D

Cool mod! :cool::cool: That blade reminds me of old-fashioned clip blades I've sometimes seen. :thumbsup::thumbsup:

My non-Alox SAK this week is a "vanilla" Vic Classic that I don't have an individual pic for. :eek:

My Alox SAK is a red Cadet:

My non-SAK bailed knife for the week is a Marbles "demo" knife:

Boy did you sharpen it !!!!!!!! I thought I could sharpen my knives , but I have never done that good of a job . That is an understatement on the great covers . The Popcorn is very Top Drawer . Guys like me look for years to find Stag like this .Yes , I did have a bad experience with the USPS . First time ever for me . I spent a couple hours today trying to get it reported , claimed , and remedied. It was for a good cause though .
Your total surprise package today is still pretty hard for me to believe . I don't know the total history on this beautiful knife but it will stay with me now . It will never ever be sold or given away in my time . I owe you one my friend . Thank you very much .

Harry

Harry your knife collection looks like it belongs in a museum! Such amazing knives!

Clay
Thank you very much my friend that is very kind of you !!!!! I think that I have some pretty nice stuff , but I know there are some on here who have just as much or more that is just as nice and better PLUS I know of one guy from Tennessee who probably has a Backup of each one .
