I carried a combo exactly like that for a year or more and I agree that they make an excellent pairI haven’t carried this black pioneer for quite some time. It languished in my truck console for months. That is until this beautiful ebony TC found its way to me. They make an excellent pair in my humble opinion.
Excellent knives posted as usual everyone. I’ve been a little out of touch but slowly making my way back around.

Gev, I ordered some Rough Riders the other day, and recalled that you had admired my lockback canoe, so I ordered one for you.I want to see more of that knife...open...man o man. I have a big want for a locking knife
Stellar stag knife, Senhor Pinto!Today with Case...

Great song...you’re killing it today with the John Prine lyrics!

Ratbert, congrats on digging up your nostalgic knife! Its all Mr. Prine and his genius. I must have listened to 20 of his songs today. I get a hankering from time to time and must cue him up. God speed John.
...
Cool and curvaceous, FBC!Sharpened this one up the other day. Definitely not my favorite blade style to sharpen.

Dazzling dark duos, Dylan(x2) and Jack!
Congrats on 2 new beauties! Two new arrivals in the post , first a Chestnut bone peanut perfect F&F straight in my watch pocket then a GEC #66 Calf Roper in Ebony just about the perfect EDC to tackle most tasks I am likely to come across in a days wandering.
Impressive Imperial and classy Case, Steve!
Thanks, Alan.
Sensational stag sowbelly, johnny!
It's fun, ain't it, Stuart?5K Qs Aspiring to alluring alliteration, I sit stumped and stupefied following your eloquent elucidation of your views. Again, fine knives, and I can see why the Colonial may have sparked an interest in traditional knives, specifically folders.

Make sure you hang onto that white 78 in this snowy weather, Paul! The Ivory Bone #78 seems hard to shake of late

Binary bone bonanza, Ron!I had these two yesterday and again today.

Congrats on the new finds, Harry!! The checkered bone on your 78 is wonderful!
Thanks, Shawn. Thanks, GT (and Dylan! and Stuart!)! I love the pattern on the old Alox Vics. That Cadet looks wonderful.
...
Interesting story about your Powderhorn, Duane. Thanks, I'll tell you a little something about that Powderhorn. A few years back I was having discussions with a custom maker, and I wanted him to make a knife like this one for me...then I realized, why was I being so crazy? I already had the knife that I was looking for, why have a custom maker waste his gift recreating what I already had in my hand! It was a moment of awakeningand a little embarrassing for me personally, having wasted some of his time with discussions...
Please tell me a little bit about this Alox Knife you have shown us, is it a Vic? age? It looks pretty nice.
Couple of venerable, but vibrant, examples there, Stuart!I'm taking a couple of elder cut-ups from my cutlery collection out for a brisk walk before lunch on what looks to be a bracing day. A Case 35 jack (1940-1964) and a Queen 38 folding hunter (1931-1955).

Bewitching bone on that Barlow, OH!Such beautiful carry knives - some nice steel around this place! I normally carry a Case 6318 everyday so not much reason to post the same pattern on a regular basis but today I wanted to carry something different, pulled this Ulster Barlow off my display shelf - it nestles nicely into the front jean pocket of my pants. OH

That amber mini trapper looks phenomenal with the dye job, Shawn!!!Coffee/Tea stained Mini Trapper today (along with the Peanut, SAK, and Bluegill)

Thanks, Wrights did a smash up job on this one.Cool and curvaceous, FBC!![]()
Shawn, I'm quite sure that knife has bubinga covers. Here's a link to a website that has that model. Thanks, GT. Good on you for the gift to Gev!
Do you happen to know what wood is on that JJ Martinez? It looks a little dark for the Olive wood I see on many of your wonderful Spanish knives.
One of my favorites

That is some much mellowed yellow there, Jeff!Glad you got the photos working.
Ratbert, congrats on digging up your nostalgic knife! You and Gev's Prine discussion had me looking at my old LPs. I only have the first one and the third one (Sweet Revenge), but I agree with your opinion 100%; EVERY cut is memorable!
Cool and curvaceous, FBC!
WW, Buzz!
Dazzling dark duos, Dylan(x2) and Jack!
Jack, I was referring to the background behind the OTHER lambsfoot; some kind of intriguing coastal vista, perhaps from your recent trip to Whitby?
Congrats on 2 new beauties!
Impressive Imperial and classy Case, Steve!
Thanks, Alan. It's fun to play around with words if I have the time.
Sensational stag sowbelly, johnny!
It's fun, ain't it, Stuart? Thanks for the comments.

Congrats on the new finds, Harry!! The checkered bone on your 78 is wonderful!
Thanks, Shawn.
Interesting story about your Powderhorn, Duane. The Alox knife is a Victorinox Cadet II, a confusing name since the model came before the current Cadet. I don't know anything about dates though. The Cadet 2 appeals to me because of the "ribbed Alox" and the pen blade instead of a nail file.
Couple of venerable, but vibrant, examples there, Stuart!
Bewitching bone on that Barlow, OH!
