What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Lately I just feel naked if I don't have a clip or spear main with a sheepfoot secondary.
So these two have been in the pocket the last couple days.

Beautiful stag and awesome photos Harry:thumbsup:. Love that 55, the shield really sets it off.
Thank you for the kind words Sir ! I agree with you about the shield . I wish that GEC would still install them , but I respect there decision . I am sure that it was all about labor cost .

Spear/Clip main and sheepsfoot secondary is a winning combo:thumbsup:
I used to be a single blade kind of guy, but then the Churchill came along and upset the status quo :D

Long Live the Queen!! That is a lovely knife, @Carboniferous !!:thumbsup::cool:

5K Qs 5K Qs Thank you for the kind comment! The dragon is a picture of sketch of "Smaug" done by J.R.R. Tolkien for his book, The Hobbit.

Edit:

Tolkien has a cool monogram, too:

Thanks for the alliterative compliments, Stuart! :)

Thank you my friend! :D I did end up carrying a third knife in the end, the Carl Schlieper I'm carrying again today, as I needed a good awl for my DIY  Thanks for your concern about my cough too, increasingly hard to get to see a doctor here unfortunately, but I will try to get to see one. It does seem to be starting to get a little better :) Three great-looking knives there. I'm carrying three myself  ;)

Thanks, Jack; top-notch trio you have there!:cool::thumbsup: What is the DIY that's been occupying so much of your time this week? Sounds like you're working quite steadily on something! ;)

Thanks for asking, GT. My wife and I just celebrated our seventh anniversary (which I guess is the copper anniversary), so she got me the custom copper covered Vic classic as a gift. The olive green Case peanut is what I carried on our weeding day. I also gave them as gifts to my groomsmen - and was pleasantly surprised when one of them pulled it out of his pocket to use a couple weeks ago; none of my good friends being knife knuts and all.
Thanks for the info, Mike. :) Congrats to you and your bride on surviving and thriving through the first seven years!:cool: That engraved Vic is special!:thumbsup: That's a handsome wedding peanut , too!:cool:

Many thanks Mr. GT, but I'm really happy with this new knife.
I usually bought smaller knives up to 3 1/2 "but now I think 3 3/4" is my ideal size, fits perfectly by hand, so for now it is be my daily companion!!!
:thumbsup::cool::):)

I couldn’t choose between Ebony or Red Sawcut. ;) I just figured what the heck! Two Barlow’s are better than one! I hope y’all have a great weekend! :D

It's a gray overcast day that laughs at the timid photographer. Anyway, I am totin' this 5.25" Case 6251SP "Case Collector's Club 1982" large trapper. Got on my big pockets pants.

W:eek:W! You have some super-sized knives in your possession, and this trapper is a LOT of knife to love!!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Fabulous pair, Jeff!!:cool::thumbsup: Both with clip mains, though. ;) Do you have a spear main, sheep secondary recommendation??

I'll post my weekly shot of the 4 knives I always carry. Vic Minichamp, Case chestnut jigged CV SBJr from a BigBiscuit GAW, scrimshawed Rough Rider small stockman (thanks, r8shell), and Guardians Lambsfoot (thanks, mrknife):

What is the bottom model with the punch? I've been pining for that blade combination on the #35 frame.
I carried my Churchill earlier today, but took the Guardian Lambfoot out for dinner!

R8shell that brisket and turkey looks Texas tasty! That lambs foot is a looker too.
Thanks! That's pork loin on the left, actually. :)
Looks like a properly smoked Texas brisket!
It's got a decent smoke ring, a little dry if you order it cut lean...
Much like eating at a deli in New York, part of the fun of going out for BBQ around here is the arguments about what place is best. We have very strong opinions on the subject. :D

So happy you were able to land a Churchill, FBC! I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it in the future. It truly has become a favorite of mine.
I can already tell that the Churchill will be carried a lot. I do love a good clip point blade and I have a soft spot for ebony covers with a hotdog shield, so it's a win win.

It was a Guardian kind of day.

Ok, Texas has pretty good BBQ, I'll give ya that.

But the no beans in chili thing is just plain wrong!

:D

GT, the classic cattle knife pattern has the spear main and sheepfoot secondary, along with either a spey, pen or punch.
The Case Humpback Stockman is a nice one, fairly easy to find, plus there is always the alox Electrician.

And the original #92 had a spear and coping, pretty close.

R8shell, the bottom picture with the punch is the giant #98 Texas Stockman @ 4.8" closed.
Here it is with a #48 Improved Trapper and an alox Cadet.

Have a little mercy! We still have dingy piles of snow here and there, and the frozen ground won’t let the melt and rainwater sink in, so it’s a mess. In other words, it’s February.
Superlative pruner with stag!

Thanks Amir. I'm lucky that it's summer here.

Very nice picture . It looks like you use that 47 . I think they are a great knife .

Harry

Cheers, Harry! It does get lot of use and pocket time. You can see from the well mellowed stag. It's a great knife with pinch open and excellent W&T.

I don't disagree! :D

Thanks for the info. I suspected it was big, but that is a giant! I really like the clip/sheepfoot/punch combo.

Thanks my friend, nothing involving any skill! :D I have a LOT of books, and half my walls are lined with bookcases. I had two more delivered this week, tall ones, with glass doors, so I needed to fix the shelves in place, and fix them to the walls with brackets. I also had a large chest delivered, which I'm going to use for some of my camping stuff. Mainly I have just been humping stuff around the house! o_O :D

Here I am pretentiously perusing my library :D
