What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Have a great day, Porch Amigos!
Didn't really need a knife to help me eat my breakfast, but I wanted a new pic for today.

I really enjoy this knife. It’s light, well made, razor sharp, and has a twist to its construction. If you haven’t tried one - you really should - it’s a great knife. I like it better than the Euro Barlow and beating a Barlow isn’t an easy task with me.

Its been a while, but I'm totin' this Case Sowbelly single today. :)

How do you like the single blade sowbelly? I've had one of the new CV models in my cart all week but haven't pulled the trigger yet.
Humbled and most grateful to have this thanks to the kindness and generosity of @Chief.
I think it was made to be carried and used, so that’s what I’ll do. Although, I’ll start out with the slip, at least at first.

Always envious of that shadow trapper!

How are you liking the Farm ‘n Field sheepsfoot?
It would be a good sibling to the nifebrite Bullnose.

One of my favorites, and one that gets a large portion of pocket time. The blade is ground nearly to the edge, which makes it a wicked slicer, and the Nifebrite acrylic isn't just cool, it's much thinner than its delrin or micarta counterparts. The Bullnose honestly doesn't get much pocket time, yet I somehow can't bring myself to sell it. Both are O-1.

Fingernails screeching across a blackboard doesn't bother me. But the thought of that Lloyd blade going across that plate makes me cringe.

New to me Camillus stockman

For a Throwback Thursday, I'm carrying two that haven't seen the light of day since November. The spring sun should bolt them to life. A Kabar model1047 half whittler from the 1970's and a Camillus madel 29 trapper from 1960-1976.

Today I carried the 2013 Bladeforums Congress Jack.

That's a handsome jack, Dean! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

5K QS, thank you, it does have FFG blades. It’s a mid-late 1970’s version made on contract by Camillus. OH
Thanks for the info, OH. :thumbsup::)

I try to carry other knives. Honestly I do. This barlow just works too darn well. I suppose it is the cross I must bear.:p
:thumbsup::thumbsup:;) The Bible says we have to deny ourselves and take up our cross daily, so well done! :)

I was surprised to find one of these new, and I like it better than I thought I would. I did not realize it had sunken joint. A very nice Tony Bose designed Case for less than $60.
Its been a while, but I'm totin' this Case Sowbelly single today. :)

Stellar sowbellies, Leslie and Ron!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: I prefer the stockman configuration to a single-blade set-up, but either way you get a knife with very desirable aesthetics and ergonomics.

These two Lookers!

Beautiful brace of Barlows! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

That's an attractive knife, FBC! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: Is that a spey-to-punch mod on a regular production RR sowbelly stockman??

You know you've got too many knives when you forget you have this one

My Free Choice, off-the-rotation schedule, knife this week is a pocket worn harvest orange Case Tribal Lock:

Poor little whittler! Looks like it has had some good use at one time, and looks good enough it needs to find a way back to regular rotation!

Yeah it's definitely a keeper... It's whittled a *lot* of projects and been carried quite a bit too. The center pin started spinning and is pretty sharp, so I haven't used it for whittling in a while. It'll raise a blister quick. I need to send it back in for a tuneup, I guess...

Looks good! Did you use vinegar?

Thanks, Ratbert, it was actually a combination of apple cider vinegar, lemon juice and white wine, heated to near boiling in the microwave. I first cleaned the blades with an ammonia based cleaner, then dipped into the juice for about 5 seconds at a time. When in the liquid, it literally bubbles around the blade. When I pulled it out, I let it air dry for about 5 seconds, checking the color, then back into the liquid. After just 4 or 5 dips it was pretty dark. Then under hot water from the faucet for about 20 seconds to stop the reaction, then dry and oil. I did my modified bull moose at the same time, using the same method. Lastly, I touched up the edges.
