Thank you Gary, I love this blade, I like how the belly is back towards the middle (leaf shaped), giving the tip a more piercing profile. Jarrett used CPM154Oh, and an AMAZING tapered tang

Thanks Bill. This one is one of my favorites and probably my most carried knife. Here's a little older pic that shows the blade a bit better.I have always preferred that clip on the 48s. Nice knife.

That's some impressive whittling, MH!!![]()
Little project, 90% of horse carved with various pocket knives, good bulk of material around the profile removed with a dremel. Now I'm under cutting the profile to define it more. Oh some details on the face was done with a dremel, mostly to sand and soften lines
Thanks for the link, sir!Thank you, the wood is "Carrasco", a species of oak bush!!!

Will, I looked back to find the last time Ken @Itsasportsbar appeared here, and coincidentally it was a year ago yesterday. I don't know any recent news, but he mentioned about a month before his last post that he had his gall bladder removed and was recovering slowly from that. Rather worrisome.Talon in Ebony, a truly wonderful present from Ken K in Canada, great pity he seems to have ceased postingDoes anybody know anything about him lately?

Bet those Old Timers have been Good Timers, too, Jeff.A couple of old favorites today. Second only to my old Boy Scout knife, and a fishing knife, Schrade Trappers and this 33OT jack are my oldest patterns.
Just about the perfect pair to me.

Congrats, @Blake the Blade ! That's a fascinating vintage knife!Picked this up a couple of days ago from a second hand tool vendor. In fact I saw this a few weeks ago and wasn't going to buy what I thought was a pretty standard rosewood handled, sheep foot with an odd shaped blade. But now, having re-profiled the blade and polished the handle to reveal what I think is either green horn or possibly stained bone, I'm really glad I did. Interestingly one side of the tang is marked Joseph Allen & Sons, Sheffield and the other GPO 1960. From the research I've done it appears the company made knives for the GPO since the 1930s when they also owned the telephone services in Britain as well as the postal service. The majority of these knives were used for stripping cable but few of the examples shown are of this quality and none of this particular pattern which I think would have started life with a larger sheep foot blade which, I suppose, would have done the job. Anyway, I'm very glad I went back for this one, the blade has a lovely patina and I love the green scales.

Sounds like you're having a rich, full day, Stuart, including champagne, no less! This morning, I helped a friend move a 330 lbs. gun safe into his house and up a flight of stairs. Was possessed by grim terror and burning muscles most of the time. My trusty Imperial barlow really impressed him when it came time to "remove" the cardboard shipping carton. Now, I'm helping another buddy work on his track car - a little less stressed.

For fun, and to entertain my granddaughters, I gathered up several hundred of the discarded cicada exoskeletons, and mounted them - using their little hooked feet - on a window screen as if they were racing to the top.
I am easily entertained.
Thanks for the measurements and the compliment. Stuart.Yes, identical and with the same serial number, but with different names. Both are 3 1/8".
Those are a trio of classics that you are totin' today. Good on ya'.
