What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Busy today and excited enough to be giddy. I'm heading to our local Cabela's to purchase a riflescope and rings for a new rifle and have it all mounted, then to sight it in, so I'm totin' some "going shopping for outdoor gear" blades. A CRKT Hunt'n Fisch (tribute to late knife designer Larry Fisch) and a Kutmaster stockman.

LOL! :D Sounds like a great day Stuart, and a couple of great knife choices for it too

@JohnDF and Jack Black Jack Black I am content nowadays to have great memories of camping, rather than heave myself to the ground for fitful sleep. During my summer camp at Ft. Bragg, NC, my early days of deer hunting, and 11 years as an assistant Boy Scout leader, I got my share and more of "hard" sleep. Jack, I had the multi-day rain camp, but with 4 tents of 11-12 year old boys (when I die, I know I'm going to Heaven, because I've spent my time in Hell).

LOL! :D Done it my friend (but only for a couple of years), I used to take inner city kids out camping, just me and a whole load of them ranging from about 7 to 13, with maybe a couple of 16-year old 'helpers' who were far more trouble than the rest of the kids put together! I was only in my 20's then, with a lot more energy, and probably a tad more patience! :D I suspect that I have rose-tinted memories of my many nights under the stars :D ;)

Bushboot and HJ:thumbsup:

I broke out the HJ lastnight as my cigar burned short (the best part) and when it does, it tends to get awfully warm/hot:eek: SAK Guy, aka Robert (haven't heard from Robert in over a year) showed my how the awl on a jack knife excels for those short smokes:thumbsup: So I rounded up this HJ I rec'd from Bob, aka Bigbiscuit, enjoyed my smoke on a beautiful summer night and thought of great friends and how lucky I was to have known them:thumbsup:

...

Luckily when going through the metal detectors you put everything in a tray which they never give much of a look , so this ended up with me ...
Sounds like a close call ; glad you didn't lose it at the gate!:thumbsup:

That is a beauty !
Thanks, Steve. :)

Today I am carrying this little Camillus 24 Jack with faux ivory covers and “gift shop” scrimshaw. It is my parent’s 68th wedding anniversary today and I am carrying it in their honor.
My Mom bought it for my Dad as an anniversary present many years ago and a couple of years ago my Dad passed it on to me.
As far as I know, it resided on his dresser and he never carried it, preferring to carry his little Imperial every day and keep the Camillus pristine. Except for a couple of little spiderwebs, it is still in great shape.

Here is the happy couple a couple of months ago, on my Mom’s 95th birthday (c’mon Dad...smile!)

Always enjoy seeing that awesome stag sleeveboard, Travman!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I’ve been meaning to tell you I love your knife photos with the English countryside in the background.
Really old stone walls are something we just don’t have around here.

Back up in the 90’s today. That’s 32’s for you centigraders.
Foregoing any micarta for Monday in favor of a tl-29 mod and a Wenger.
Have a good start to your week, all.

That's very kind of you Jeff :) There are thousands and thousands of miles of stone walls here, some dating back a thousand years :) That's a great-looking TL-29 mod :)

I agree with Jeff on enjoying Jack's summer photos, and I agree with Jack on the quality of Jeff's erstwhile TL-29!! ;) My wife built a stone wall along the alley that bounds the north side of our lot, but it only dates back 30 years!

I'm going camping today with my two boys. ...
