What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks GT, love the Remington!

Finally caught up on this thread after helping a friend move this weekend. I carried these two:

WAGHtSC.jpg

He commented on the AG Russell premium scout, “that is pretty cool, where can I get one of those?” :)

After I tried to explain the supply and demand of the knife world, he commented “you’re weird” :)

Poor guy. Drops a hint about a gift idea, and gets an economics lecture.:D:p

Have this old Kronenkrebs in my pocket . Have had it for a couple of years , carried it rarely and used it even less , but I really like the knife . It is very well made and sharpens up like a razor . Old Pics

Harry

Really cool knife, Harry. I think the drawknife blade could be really useful.

I think the blade you are talking about is a Skinning Blade !!! The blunt tip is to assist in not puncturing some innards.
Nice Yeller Queen you are showing today my friend .
Harry

I carry this quartet EVERY day, in addition to whatever is dictated by my weekly rotation schedule.
Case chestnut jigged bone CV Sodbuster Jr. from a BigBiscuit GAW, small Rough Rider stockman with scrimshaw (thanks, Rachel), Vic Minichamp, Vic Swiss Army 1 (what used to be called Solo Alox, I think).

Always good to see your Eternals GT :) :thumbsup:

Outstanding pair Tom :thumbsup:

Struggling with my internet connection today (again), but carrying these two, both generous gifts from our man in New Zealand Duncan @Campbellclanman :) :thumbsup:

It's a good coffee Gary, Tim Horton's is fairly new down your way is it not?

Well... thank you for the mystery of your handle. :thumbsup::p Every time I saw 5K Qs I would be like?:confused:o_O now I'm at peace Ooommm. Maybe 20years ago I would have had the where with all, and solved it, but I doubt it. ;)
There are several Tim Horton's shops in my city, but I really don't know when they first showed up - at least 5 years ago.
Dave, there's an old thread somewhere in which posters explain their usernames, but I can't seem to find it now. :(

...
Cheers for the info GT :) It's some years back now, but Uncle Andi contacted Klaas on my behalf, and received a reply from a senior executive. They said that these knives were made under license, that they basically had little or nothing to do with them, and bluntly called the vendor a liar for referencing Solingen :eek: Thank you my friend :) :thumbsup:
...
Hope everyone is having a great weekend :thumbsup: Double Lambsfoot for me today ;) :thumbsup:
...
Thanks for that info from Klaas, Jack; it's not very encouraging, is it? :(
Little stag and big rosewood lambsfoots are an attractive couple! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Memorable knife, @Travman! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Dramatic duo, Alan! :eek::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Been carrying this Rough Rider Sowbelly for the last week and a half. It's holding up quite well from all the tasks I've used it for.

Looks great, ED! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Is that one of the carbon steel models, or the usual 440A?

Knife content: see pic above. Forgot which thread this was! Got my baseball themed (come on, Spring Training!) Victorinox Tinker in my pocket at the moment. Just opened a Dr Pepper (with real sugar) with it.

[Won the knife in a GAW sponsored by @JTB_5 ]
That Tinker is a home run, Vince! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

You sound more like a lawyer than a math professor, Gary!
Both deal in info, what ifs, and worst case scenarios! :D:thumbsup:

These today Ulster Barlow and Boker 492 Barlow .

Big league Barlows, Harry! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Gary. To answer your question, it is all in the eyes of the bee holder (not sure why anyone would want to hold a bee, but oh well).

Nice set of SAKs and bailed knives shown. I've always liked the red alox ones. :thumbsup::thumbsup:
:p:D Thanks, Dean. I agree - for me, the red Alox is the classic version (especially with the "old cross" logo).

This one again. I like to carry a pretty knife on Sunday.
...
Your white copperlock is definitely pretty! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I carried this big Taylor Schrade 858 stockman all weekend, and even gutted a whitetail doe with it.

IdpgUBZ.jpg
That's the 4.5" "Lumberjack" model, right, Jeff? Good-looking knife with the round bolsters! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Thank you very much GT, it was a good day out :) I enjoy seeing that little Pepsi bottle-opener almost as much as your red Cadet :) :thumbsup:
Thanks, Jack. :) I rarely use that opener; it's made of aluminum, or some other soft metal, and I suspect a quite limited number of bottle caps are enough to render it nonfunctional. :(

Thanks for your comment Mr. Gary, for me the size is not important, but the taste...:thumbsup:
Today with GEC # 83 in Ebony wood...
...
Your ebony lockback is very luxurious, Senhor Pinto! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
My quinces never seem to get ripe enough - always hard and sour! :eek:

:) ...We went shopping around a bit to get friends "alien" knickknacks, and I found some beer with aliens on it, so I had to bring some home!

I'm like the others that have already commented, love the alox SAK's. I've never handled one, but I'm thinking it's time to go down that road and try one.:thumbsup:
Thanks for the Roswell story, and for the SAK love. :) Gotta warn you: I'm not sure it's possible to try just one! ;):thumbsup:

Just acquired this 2008 S&M Hawbaker-style muskrat in Fireoak bone and have been carrying it today. Feels great in the hand, nice size for a four-finger grip.
...
Congrats on the marvelous muskrats, Ace & Leslie! :thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup: Leslie, is that a geode in the pics?

Thanks, Gary! Good observation. It does resemble sine waves. 60 Hz?;)
:thumbsup::D

A math joke? Over my head. ;)
Not really a joke, just an observation. :)

You must NOT apologize! I was not offended in the least. Sorry- I think I came across as defensive.

I used to tell new clients "I hope you need a salesman real bad, because I'm a real bad salesman."
Good
Good one! :p all the best my friend.
:thumbsup::):thumbsup:

Thanks, GT. Some beasts leave very identifiable spoor. I admire your Schrade whittler and and Remington peanut choices, and I am unanimous in that position.
...
Yes, he was in CE and CF mode and, thankfully, shared his observations to my educational benefit.

Yes, I have with two other knives from the same maker - to no avail. Oh, well.

Yep, that one is worthy of a daily ride in the pockets.

Thanks for your remarks on my knives, your mysteries, and Ron's visit! :)

I was pretty shocked by it at the time GT. I actually picked up a stainless Brown Mule on a market stall for a few pounds a year or so ago, but it really is a piece of junk. A real shame :( Thank you my friend :thumbsup:

Thanks, Jack. :) I rarely use that opener; it's made of aluminum, or some other soft metal, and I suspect a quite limited number of bottle caps are enough to render it nonfunctional. :(

That's a shame :( Still a nice vintage piece though :)
