I feel your pain, Buzz. The Wharncliffe Mini Trapper is one of Case's best knives. I got the Army shield version a while ago and was amazed at the fit, finish, bone, etc. I call it perfect. Your Carhartt is one I've looked at often.

Another vote for the Case mini wharnie, mine comes in a single blade config, it's a little pocket scalpel! Came with a nasty burr but easily fixed!
