What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This is my one week a year I have to work swing shift and then be on call until 6 AM. Still had to go in early:( Since I have no idea what may happen I decided to shake things up a bit. I grabbed a pocket slip and stuffed the Victorinox Farmer in it to keep it from getting trashed against my flashlight. The only thing it did was open a package when I got home.

I had experimented with hardening leather with water and heat, results have been mixed. Then I took this piece that I had "ruined" and it turned out this way. It's a folding sheath/handle that makes the handle of the higonokami more comfortable. Works just fine.

It's that moment again;)

There's a lot I like about these knives, despite not being a big Jack fan (prefer double ends or singles) Really good F&F on these, all steel and a rare pattern. Such a shame GEC hasn't done more runs, or it being made as a Forum Knife with different detailing..

For this week's "2-Scout Tuesday", I have my usual Camillus and a beautiful Remington RS3333 that arrived last night. Very nice Remington scouts are kind of hard come by, unless you're willing to unload some serious cash. I did have to pay out a bit for this one, but far less than some of the crazy aftermarket prices out there. The reward was a BSA knife with an unbroken punch, a full blade, and no bone cracks. I didn't even have to tune the knife. All tools were tight, properly crinked, and with lots of snap. These old Remingtons are as much a work of art as they are tools.

Nooooooooo!!!!!!!!!! Leather stretches over time. It stretches A LOT if you need it too. You can just wet the leather a bit, and press down the leather around the knives inside. The leather will stretch right out.

Stretch the leather out just enough to loosen it up. No need to go crazy.
Well, yes, you're right, and I did wet the leather... Also brought it in the bathroom when I showered to help the process along. It's improving, but I went ahead with the modification, and glad I did. It's much more useable now. I can pinch the knives right out.

The Churchill has been with me for a bit, but the 38 just arrived yesterday! I like the bocote a lot. No play on this one and dead centered blade. A happy knife-nut here :)

One of my very favorite frames Will and with those covers to boot:thumbsup:

Totin two trappers today.
Of course, the redbone peanut is in the little pocket, and the Wenger Esquire is on the keys in the other pocket just in case a smaller blade is called for. So yeah. Four pocket knives and a Leatherman in my phone case on my belt. Do I need help?
These things aren’t going to carry themselves, you know.View attachment 1107165

Nice combo or should I say Quartet? nice aging on those Trappers Jeff:cool:

A nicely matched Stag 56 for me today.
