What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Jr cattle is not a case moniker, that is the actual pattern name. Schrade just called it a cattle knife but many other makers referred to the 3 3/8" cattle knife as a junior, for example the camillus 75 is called junior in catalogs. The 856 was the last cattle knife variant that schrade made and it ceased in the early 60's. Case doesn't call the 63090 a jr cattle knife, they say it's a medium stockman, which is wrong. The schrade middleman is a serpentine frame and is not the same as their jr cattle.

Every time I try to pretend I know what I'm talking about, someone comes along who actually does.

I'm surprised you fellers can understand it without subtitles, I struggle out that way myself! :D But then I guess they use actors ;) :D

And a fine pair it is my friend .
I spent a fair amount of time in the Doncaster area so that helps some . But I did have some trouble understanding some of the guys who lived out towards Huddersfield . But we have watched The Last Of The Summer Wine for years and years now . I enjoy every minute of it still .

Good morning everyone. I hope you all had a terrific weekend.

I'm carrying a couple of great knives today (in my opinion, of course :D).

Those are great Dylan :)

Absolutely stunning Harvey :)

Thanks Jack, much appreciated! I have read that from some of the more veteran members, that the Porch used to have a less frenetic pace. Kind of difficult for me to imagine a less lively atmosphere than what we have today. It must be a testament to more people discovering the classics :D

Yes Tom, when I wandered in here as a boy, it was a different place entirely. There was a lot of tumble-weed blowing around, just a few older boys sitting around, and Pertinux of course. Carl would tell a joke, then young Gary would cough, Elliott would crack his knuckles. Big Paul Hilborn would smile to himself, and then Young Gev would offer to go to the shop for some pop. Then Charlie would walk in, and everyone's face would light up, especially when he read out a letter from Duncan in New Zealand. Of course, I was just sitting on the step then, but they treated me right kindly, seems like a long time ago now :)

Hope y’all have a great Monday! :)

Thanks Harry :) Of course you did my friend, and some of those accents round abouts in the wee pit villages are as thick as beef dripping! :) It's a different accent over the hill though of course :)

That is exactly how I imagine it! :D

Gotta carry something old, just to feel young.

Monday carry. I'm getting ready for one knife, warm weather. Since I'll be only in shorts for several months (except at church services on Sunday), I'll be carrying only small, light knives. These two will be frequent carries; the Mini Copperhead is my EDC during the rest of the year and carried with other knives.
