Beautiful picture Gevo and that knife looks a real treat .

Thank you my friend. The Catt OB is heavenly.

Thank you, my friend :D

Thank you very much Gevo . I have to agree with you on the statement of ART . I did not show it but it is a Splitback Whittler with 3 blades . I admire the Design and Manufacturing Skill involved in creating and producing one without blades touching and scraping . I consider myself to have been very lucky to finally acquire a bonafide Cargill . The fact that it is in Stag is for me a real Plus .
Keep Well my Friend .
Blessed I'd day :) I'm smiling for you and You keep well as well, my friend :D

Our kids dropped in for a late brunch on Mother's Day, so I've been cleaning, cooking, and just finished cleaning up, again. Miss Norma has toddled off to bed, so I'm going to sit on the front porch with my pup and listen to the light rain.

Kids came over yesterday for Mothers Day so I escaped to the basement for a few hours to finish this. Still have hand polishing to go but I’ll carry this to the plant nursery to get my wife a few plants for today.

This is a 4” Mora Carbon blade set in Lapis Lazuli with a little moose antler behind the bolster and buffalo horn pommel

The scabbard is olive wood with rare earth magnets to keep the blade snug

Like some others, I just got caught up on this thread. Whew o_O ...
It's a busy time of year here in Maine when you own a boat and working to get it ready for the season.

Yesterday I worked putting some new plywood down on the front deck of "Moonrise," my custom pontoon houseboat creation.

2019 is her 10th anniversary :)
I'm going to reward her with some new carpet.

Sure was entertaining going through all the posts here. Some real eye-candy
I wore out my "like" button for sure!
We are very lucky knife-nuts
Our collections give others joy through sharing here on The Porch

Today I'm totin' a trapper generously gifted by @Prester John
You introduced me to the full-sized trapper Vince, and gotta say it's a winner :)
I recovered her in walnut and copper pins, and added a lanyard hole.

Hope everyone's having a good day, mothers and others :)

The Vic Pioneer again, along with my Oregon Trapper for Micarta Monday. I know that I vowed to carry only stainless steel for the warm humid months, but I haven't managed to find a stainless replacement for the #43 yet. I do have a Case Tribal Lock arriving in the mail today, which is pretty big, so we'll see how that works out.

The SS Moonrise. Swan silent, Mourning dove soft... She is a strikingly beautiful creation.
Thanks Dwight, she's worth it. A labor of love. I'm looking forward to posting knife pics from the deck in the evening light :)

Yes, for sure... Glad to be a part of this sharp little corner of the interweb. It has enriched my hobby greatly, and the folks are really GREAT :)
Thanks all, Don

In my pocket at the moment:

Polished stag navaja from Albacete, Spain, handmade by José Antonio Herreros (@ArtesaniaHerreros).
What an impressive work of art, Vince!:thumbsup::cool:

Schrade sleeveboard
Thanks, Nick. :) That Schrade shadow sleeveboard pen is the cat's meow!! ;):thumbsup:

...
Thanks GT! Yes same one (she is definitely the better half). It was a relatively small price to pay for the release of my beloved orange farmer :). I love seeing the math knife again , even if the actual math completely eludes me (Euler's identity?)

These two for me today.

Thanks, Tom; Euler's Identity is exactly correct! :):thumbsup: Fine fixed/folder pair you've chosen!:cool::thumbsup:

That’s a great quartet Gary! :D

Thanks, Ron & Dean. :)

Number ten, again.

Good to see that top-of-the-scale Ulster Barlow again, Dean!:cool::thumbsup:

Today with a GEC # 83 on Ebony and one of these pioneer old cross!;)

Champion Churchill, Dave! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

W:eek:W, Dwight, we don't see a 2009 BF Barlow very often; congrats on the rara avis!!:cool::thumbsup:

Carried these 2 today . This morning it was just the TC to the YMCA and then coffee with our friends and then I added the $21 Western Beast while I was uncovering and fertilizing our Roses .

Go big or go home! I'm kicking my fixed blade fixation up a notch today: a Kershaw model 1085 Diskin Hunter in Sandvik 14C28N (1916) and G10, and a suitably sized belt companion, a Case 6265 Folding Hunter (2013) in Tru-Sharp stainless and rosewood.

Harry & Stuart, do you recommend that every traditional knife knut own at least one folding hunter? I don't have one, and I can't imagine carrying/using one very often (this dog don't hunt), but they surely seem to be an iconic pattern!

Thank you very much GT, always good to see your Eternals

Rushing a bit today! Hope everyone has a good Friday :) Piano keys for me

Thanks, Jack. :) Magnificent musical pair; sing us a song, you're the Piano Man!:thumbsup:;)

I do believe the Lambsfoot is the perfect middle ground: more nimble than the sheepfoot, and sturdier than the wharncliffe. It's the knife Goldilocks would choose. ;)
Good point, @r8shell; I'm amazed how often a Goldilocks philosophy is applicable in my life!:thumbsup::D

Good Morning All
This should be a good pairing today...
Looks like that would be a good pairing ANY day, John!:cool::thumbsup:

Case jack & Wright LF.View attachment 1125778I swapped my fixed blade for this massive Wenger. In a hypothetical survival situation, one could do a lot worse than this one. The wood saw is big enough to be useful, and the blade locks for safety. The cross is the release button. View attachment 1125779I should be able to survive my trip to the grocery and possible gardening.
If you can survive that, Jeff, you're ready for anything! ;) (I didn't realize you had a lambsfoot; is that a fairly recent acquisition?)

As a canoesseur, I have to commend you on that brilliant blue Case canoe!!:cool::thumbsup:

Compelling sleeveboard shadow lambsfoot, Harvey!:thumbsup::cool:

...
I’ve had these two in my pocket. A Case 06247Pen from 1974 and a wee Sambar Lambsfoot! Hope everyone has a great day! :D

Pocketful of goodness, Ron! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I didn't post all of the knives I was carrying last week, so I'll post a couple I missed along with what replaces them in the schedule for the new week that starts today.
Miscellaneous Knife last week was a Case CV chestnut jigged bone mini trapper, and this week the miscellaneous category will be represented by a Case Caliber muskrat:

Lambsfoot of the Week last week was my stag Cracker Jack, and this week is my horn Lam Jack:
