What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

SteveC SteveC What is that gorgeous stag knife you have there Steve??

It's a A. Wright & Son Lamb Foot

No, Jeff, I never tried that one, but my grandma always served us peanut butter and mayonnaise on open-faced toast when we went to her house. To this day, it's one of my favorite snacks. I'm still carrying the Shapleigh cattle knife in buff horn. It's interesting to me that this knife has a plain nick on the main, but a long pull on the sheepfoot . . . seems backwards. o_O

I want to 'like' this for the knife, and 'unlike' it for the mayonnaise. :p

A couple in rosewood today:

D Duckdog Thanks Stuart. Love the pick bone and the swedge on the main blade of your Primble today!:thumbsup: It’s a beautiful knife!

Thanks, Nick. My appreciation for the Primbles, at least the ones that I have, has grown steadily as I handle them.

Today my pocket tote will be a couple Robeson knives; a scout from '11-'21 and a Barlow from '48-'59.

Absolutely beautiful, JJ.

I have wanted to add a Scrimshaw knife to my collection for quite a while. Several weeks ago, I came across a very talented artist and decided to entrust her with a GEC white bone 78 as her canvas. She normally uses Chinese knives to keep the cost down, but I cannot abide by those products. She did a great job. I can lose myself in the scene she created.

That's a prize, Greg. Thanks for sharing it.

Lovely leather layering, Alan.

I’m totin these two today! Hope y’all have a blessed weekend! :)

Thanks, Ron, as your pair brightened my morning. (As you can tell, I'm still catching up to the thread.)

After an extremely late start due to our wettest May in recorded history, the vegetable garden is catching up nicely. Broccoli heads are 3 or 4 inches across, a bunch of sweet grilling peppers are almost ready, and beans and squashes are blooming. I’m looking forward to the entire day in the perennial borders moving plants, battling the creeping charlie, and transplanting some young walnuts and oaks planted by the squirrels, so todays knives were picked with that in mind.

It sounds to be a productive day, Jeff, and you picked a potent pair of workers to help you. Enjoy your garden grubbing.

These two today

And a handsome pair they are, Steve.

WOW!! Thanks for sharing that beauty.

Magnificent bone on that dreamy piece Stuart.

Thanks, Dwight, Belknap Hardware put a lot of love into their Primble brand, and that "hammered" Imperial Barlow that you posted is a real treasure, too.

This came in the mail. I like it.

That looks like it could be a very nice pocket knife, Dave. Classic lines of an honest knife.

I got this in the mail today. It’s in the pocket now! :D

Gorgeous, Ron. Congratulations.

You've got friends in VERY high places, Stuart!:cool::thumbsup: Do you know what that style of jigging is typically called? What about the color of the bone? So beyond my personal experience so far!!:thumbsup::cool:

Stag/Horn Knife this week is a Rough Rider stag sowbelly stockman

Thanks, GT. That Primble is a legacy from my stepfather, as are most of my nicer knives, and I don't have much information on their particulars. The covers' color was darker until I cleaned some grime off with mineral oil. Given their age, I assume that the original color had actually lightened with wear, but that's speculation. Your stag sowbelly is a precious little piggy.

Today's tote will be my cutlery version of "Surf and Turf"; an Abalone Winchester "black box" Congress and a Bovine Robeson PE Pen.:D

Both are beauties, JJ, but that BB Winchester blows me away. You are really bringing the heat, sir.

Splendid knife, Stuart!:thumbsup::cool: To my inexperienced eye, it appears to be a coke bottle coffin pattern!:rolleyes:

Thanks, again, GT. I see it as a classic coffin, given the sharp angles, especially on the bottom bolster. This old Hammer Brand is my idea of a coke bottle handle:

As a knife should be, Steve.
