What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

This was my Grand fathers Hammer Brand 1950s GM Key Knife. Cleaned it up and sharpened it today. Even opened a box at work lol.

Steve, your Kutmaster, and Jer, your Schrade, and Gev, your PAL are such slender, sensuous, shapely knives!! :eek::thumbsup::cool::cool::thumbsup:

By all rights I should post a photo of this knife daily, because no matter what I’m doing or whatever else I’m carrying a Victorinox Classic will be found on whichever key ring happens to be in my pocket.

If there were a vote for single greatest “EDC item” this would be the winner, hands down.

Combine this with a P-38 and we could re-build civilization from scratch.

I admire your "can-do" attitude!! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Some killer stag today.
...
That stag 93OT is sensational!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Case Barlow and 2-blade Congress today.
...
Couple of stellar knives, Dean! :cool::cool::thumbsup: That red jigged bone Barlow is my second favorite of the recent Case Barlow releases.

It's Wednesday? Again? Well, this will be my totin' totem for the rest of the day.

That unpretentious knife must make you feel like an emperor when you carry it, Stuart! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Sitting at the hotel, watching TV, waiting for the Wife, Totin' my Lambsfoot.

Livin' the dream, John!! ;):cool::cool:

A ink black ebony Maher & Grosh Texas Ranger today:thumbsup:
...
Wow, Paul, that's a stunner! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

That's the one, GT, though the others are fine canoodling canoes, too.
- Stuart
I think all three feature great scales, but have to concur with Duckdog~ the Buck is the ONE.
...
...
Beautiful stag on your hearty Buck canoe, Gary; very cool!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
I appreciate your votes of confidence, Stuart & Jeff & JJ. :) That stag Buck canoe was a lucky find; I think I bought the last NOS one offered by some little internet company located in the same Idaho town as Buck.

5K Qs 5K Qs - A fine bevy of knives this week. I especially like your gunstock checkered canoe, GT.
Thanks, Harvey. :) Checkered covers, including Alox on SAKs, really float my boat.

I thought my little Pemberton had jumped out of my pocket somewhere in southwestern Colorado last summer, but this evening my youngest daughter was searching for something she had dropped in my wife’s car and came up with this.

I didn’t carry this for must of the day, but I’m carrying it now. As my British friends would say, I’m chuffed.

Congrats on the return of the prodigal Pemberton; I can imagine you killed the fatted calf for a celebration feast! :thumbsup::thumbsup::p

My Thursday totes are a new one from GEC and an old favorite from Case; the #92 Eureka jack and a 1940-64 redbone Barlow.:)
...
Something old, something new, both superb. Congrats on the Eureka, JJ; you found it, for sure! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Today with Portuguese "Veríssimo" in stag and with blade lock.;):thumbsup:

...
Beautiful knife, José, and that's my very true opinion! ;):thumbsup::thumbsup:

Simple knife that sizzles, Dave! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

- GT

...
Thanks, GT.
I probably have fewer total knives with me in the hotel than you carry on your person daily. :D
We just have different values, John. You're a quality guy, and I'm a quantity guy! :p:thumbsup::cool:

Happy Thursday... The week is almost over!
Powerful pairing, John! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Missing out was causing me to have a hard time sleeping at first Gary! ;) With the help of my other knives I’m slowly getting better! :thumbsup::eek:
Get well soon, Ron! :):thumbsup::thumbsup:

You're showing an ample supply of carbon steel there, Jeff! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Nice Canoes GT :) :thumbsup:

Thanks for the compliment, and for the fanfare, my friend, I always enjoy carrying it :) :thumbsup:
...
Thanks, Jack, for the canoe comment and for pulling out the Abbeydale Jack. :)

...
Nice song from Springsteen, but I think he sometimes sings about things he knows nothing about. For example, in Glory Days, he refers to a fastball as a "speedball." I've never heard that term in baseball; I've heard "heat," "chin music", etc. Sounds more like a drug term! Maybe it's a Jersey thing.
...
Thanks for the interesting Springsteen comments. :) I think you're right about "speedball" being a drug term (cocaine/heroin combo), but I also found it in an online list of synonyms for fastball.

5K Qs 5K Qs
The one I have is glow in the dark, I forgot to mention it. Its more yellow than green in direct light,but in certain light its more green. Maybe in low light the glow effect starts to come out....
This is in full dark:thumbsup:
I have a RR canoe with the "Moonglow" handles; they're very cool, and I hoped maybe I could use it as a nightlight on the bedside table, but the glow doesn't really last very long before needing some sunlight to recharge it. :rolleyes:

Thanks for remembering my Blues-themed knife combinations GT! Oddly enough, although I am a native son of St. Louis, I am a Royals fan. This causes much confusion for my friends and family who are Cardinal fans. To their credit, when I wear Royals gear to a Cardinals game I am merely treated with a sort of mild neglect, and am mostly ignored :).
...
Royals fan, eh? :thumbsup::cool: Tough season, but the Royals were better than my toothless Tigers! :(
As usual, you've posted another fine fixed/folder pair! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

...
5K Qs 5K Qs - Thanks GT. May the time before your return to the watery Nirvana pass quickly.
...
Thanks, Harvey. :)

I gain weight just looking at your fine photographs, Harvey! :rolleyes::cool::cool:

Gary, your trio of Canoes this week are all stellar; the RR gunstock with the checkered bone is always a favorite when you post it. :thumbsup: Additionally, the Buck stag is also a special one. :thumbsup:

Thank you, Gary! They replaced my iPhone so all is good on that front. :D
I appreciate your high praise for my canoes, Dean, and I'm glad your communication options are back to normal. :)

I carried my Forum Congress Jack on my walk-in-the-woods today.
...
I don't have a pattern like that, but that BF Congress Jack sure is elegant! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

...
Two classic patterns
Amen, Brother Taylor! :cool::thumbsup::cool: Fine WCLF and 72!

Today’s carry is a new-to-me Victorinox Soldier. This particular knife is one of the more uncommon “with keyring” versions.

Congrats on the rare Soldier! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Is anyone else seeing your pictures all fuzzy , or is it just on my computer . They are clear at Photobucket .

Harry
I see it as a new aspect of the ongoing Photobucket fiasco. :thumbsdown::mad: (I don't even see a clear image when I click it to go the Photobucket website.)

Harry
Remarkable pair, Harry! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

These wood have worked well on Wednesday, but I wanted to tote them on Thank-You Thursday. These are my only GEC and my only Wright lambfoot knives, thanks to Ron and Jack, Half/Stop Half/Stop and Jack Black Jack Black , respectively. Thanks, guys. You and these tokens are special to me.

- Stuart
Fine pair of knives from a fine pair of fellow Forumites, Stuart! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Today's totes are two of my favorite patterns and examples; a pre 1952 C Johnson Barlow and a 1931-39 Remington BSA scout.:)
Your photos are like music, JJ, in that they "soothe the savage beast" (me ;))! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Morning folks, carrying a couple of old friends today, Harrison Fisher Crown Penknife and a Unity Lambsfoot :thumbsup:

I chose some old friends for Old Friends Friday, an Aerial and a Crucible. They watched me finish a marathon deck cleaning project, clipped a celebratory cigar or two, accompanied me to my weekly watering hole gathering, and cut the foil cap on our dinner wine at home. Truly helpful.

Dang Stuart! :thumbsup: I’m too old to be drooling all over my iPad! :eek::D:thumbsup:

Thanks Ron!!! Quite a highly attractive pairing you have today, very cool!:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Thanks JJ! :):thumbsup:

Get well soon, Ron! :):thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks Gary! I believe I’m going to be okay! ;):thumbsup:

I’m traveling light this weekend, but I’m confident with my choice! ;) It’s already proven itself fully capable by cutting the tags off of a new pair of New Balance 990’s I’m breaking in this weekend. The package of a cheesecake we bought last night also provided no challenges. :thumbsup: Y’all have a great weekend! :thumbsup::D

Thank you, Gary! I presume your favorite recent Case Barlow would be the one your included in your post below? :D I can certainly see the reason for your ranking.

I appreciate your high praise for my canoes, Dean, and I'm glad your communication options are back to normal. :)

A top-drawer trio of pocket knives that you have shown in your post, Gary! You have a particularly attractive example of the sawcut bone CV Barlow! :thumbsup::thumbsup:

@JJ Cahill - Thank you kindly JJ. Two beauties for the Schrade-Athon. The shields are very cool as in all the details of each knife. They’re both so nice that I can’t say which one I like more.

5K Qs 5K Qs - Thank you kindly GT. All three very nice but that mini trapper.

Those key knives are so cool! Did your grandfather use it as a spare key? I found an un-cut one at a flea market, and I wish I could use it, but I have one of those new-fangled push button starters. :( Maybe they'll come up with a Swiss Army Knife with an auto microchip feature. :):thumbsup:
I see it as a new aspect of the ongoing Photobucket fiasco. :thumbsdown::mad: (I don't even see a clear image when I click it to go the Photobucket website.)
