Vic that is a very cool picture of your white owl! For my pic, you are correct, it is balanced on the contour on the hood :) I thought it would give a neat floating effect like you said.

Ryan, I have wanted a nice jackknife from GEC for a long time. I had eyed up a snakewood 66 for a long time but never pulled the trigger. This 76 has a lot going for it that I really like. I really don't think any knife is going to ever get to me like the ebony 85, but this one will get a good share of EDC time I believe. I think what will keep the 76 around is I can do a little whittling with it where I can't do too much with my 85. As a strict utility blade I feel the 85 would be a better choice, but the 76 has a different charm. Short answer, my 85 is my favorite EDC knife to date, but the 76 is getting its chance :)

blah blah blah, I know :D

That's a beauty, Ed. I may have to carry my mini copperlock tomorrow. It was part of a potential trade that did not materialize. So, since I'm keeping it, I might as well put it to use!

@lambertiana: I´m not sure, if it´s ebony. Maybe, maybe not. The grain is very fine and there are different shades in the woods. Possible, that it´s ebony. I really like this knife.

@vanguard: That KaBar Peanut is a great knife. I really (!!!) disappears in the pocket because of its very slim profile. It´s much slimmer than the Case 'nuts. Thank you again for adding this. :)

I just pocketed my new #71 Bullnose. Now I know what all of this GEC hype is all about. Not bad for my first GEC I would say; I cannot wait to order something with more exotic handle materials. If I am blown away by a sodbuster, I can imagine how I would feel opening up a Northfield.
I wonder how this O1 will perform...

A northfield may not impress you more, than again it may. My 71 test run impressed me just as much as my 200$ stag 73. The O1 you will love :)

Good to hear my friends

I am highly impressed with this little guy; I won't be putting it down for a long while. I wonder what my next GEC will be...An ebony 73? A Cocobolo 57? A stag 73? A............ah shoot, it's already starting, GEC has gotten it's grip on me! :D

Time for 0w-40 synthetic in my XC 70, winter is coming, I run 5w-40 syn. in summer. Boker Fellow damascus in ebony and stainless basketweave is helping out.
