Thanks, it's been supposed to go out to jsdistin for new covers since November but just can't seem to get out the door, might as well carry it a bit.
I must say that that I'm not a big fan of acrylic, but that does it for me... Very nice![]()
Sure the covers are plastic, but it’s purdy plastic.
Love that knife, Jeff!Stainless Viper in antique bone today.

Jack Black - Thank you Jack. Fine image of your Hartshead. The background is perfect. Love orange F&F.
I had a few hours to myself this afternoon (something that rarely happens), so I decided to explore the area around Lake Minnewashta in Chanhassen, MN. I had my Nifebrite #14 with me, which I’m carrying this week for Mike’s GAW.

There’s a paved “winter walking trail” that I stayed on for a short while, until I found this stairway leading down to an unpaved trail closer to the lake.
![]()
In winter, these trails are supposed to be reserved for cross country skiers (there were several signs along the way forbidding hikers, pets, bicycles and snowmobiles), but at this point there’s little enough snow remaining that I don’t think anyone will be out skiing. (Some stretches of the trail — those with less tree cover — had more mud than snow.)
![]()
Nifebrite’s pretty easy to spot, even from a distance.
![]()
When I got to the end of that trail, I found the sign for the fishing pier…
![]()
…but the fishing pier was nowhere to be seen.
![]()
Found it.
![]()
It was about 100 feet from shore, on the opposite side of the peninsula from where it’s supposed to be. I assume this was done intentionally, although it seems a bit odd.
You know you’re in Minnesota when there’s a lifeguard stand with a “No Snowmobiling” sign.

One more shot of the #14 for good measure.

A small yet robust Yorkshire Terrier; very sharp, too.
Excellent background for your Hartshead Barlow; don't light any matches, though!![]()
