Kris, that damascus fixed blade looks so great - who made this one? Which wood and steel is used?

Thanks Andi, Sean O'Hare made that one for me with his own 672 layer damascus out of L6 and O1. The handle is a beautiful piece of ironwood. 4.25 blade and 9.25 overall. The sheath is by Paul Long.
Here is a pic of the ironwood with a little Ballistol on it

A great looking knife - the ironwood makes a great addition to the damascus blade. A great piece ... I really like your pics about your damascus blades, Sir!

Thank you FingerBlade, this is a special one that Jerry Halfrich made, 30 twist Damasteel blade, small roses Damasteel inergral bolster and liner, sambar stag handles, Jerry said the stag was some nice stuff he had been saving. It is a joy to carry and use. I am lucky enough to have an order with Jerry coming up next year, he is one of my favorites.
Absolutely beautiful..at a loss really, do you have the info on said knife?

Sorry for off topic, but is that a flannel hanky & where can I get me some?!

I'll leave you a visitor message :)

*Inhales deeply* Me gusta....

How do you like it? I am debating hitting the buy button on one of those myself...

I absolutely love it. The #73 pattern is the quintessential GEC pattern, it started it all for them and let me tell you, they have that thing down pat! Mine is the all steel model, which has steel bolsters/pins/liners like the bullnose does. It's a serious workhorse, it just begs, pleads, screams "USE ME!". The other thing is that it has the best (from my comparisons) blade length to handle ratio of all the GEC patterns, it has a longer blade than the #72 lockback even though the #72 handle is 1/8" longer. There's a reason it's their best selling pattern.

More pictures please
I'll try to snap some more pics this weekend, I'll be working on my brothers car so I'm sure it'll come in handy more than once!

Today in the mail were two very different pieces of sharp, which I've been looking at on my desk for a bit.
First and foremost, the very generous giveaway from Vanguard! A wonderful little German jack, ferocious half-stops, nice thin blades, all steel construction. What a gem. Lighter than a Peanut, will definitely see pocket time.

Then, this extravagant beauty showed up--just what I've always wanted from GEC. I tried their 89 pattern at 4" closed--nice, but too...cylindrical. Tried the 23 at 4.5" closed--great size but too much for an actual pocket! Now this arrives, 4.5" closed, 3.5" blade, solid lockback, and the enigmatic but strangely beautiful calico bone. Bet GEC wishes they had waited and called this particular example "rotten banana bone." Definitely going to try to get the ebony Tidioute version as well if I can sell some things.

Sonnemann congrats on your two gems, nice Wadsworth I believe made by Kastor, they have a long history of knife making, and the GEC looks fantastic, very classy and generous Vangaurd.
