What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I've got to buy a new camera going through old photos to find what I'm carrying is a real pain well......you know where. :D:rolleyes:

1971 CV Case Stockman. Full disclosure, the reason that third blade is not open is because it is about the hardest to open of any knife I have had in the 60+ years I have been carrying knives. :eek: The seller failed to mention that.

I had a 64-69 Case 47 pattern stockman that I never did get the Spey open. Knife was almost mint and I was pretty sure I’d scratch the heck out of it using a tool so I just sold it( but at least I told the buyer first).

For my special day I’ve picked two special knives to share in the festivities! Y’all have a safe and blessed day! :) :thumbsup:

What a special pair for Father's Day, Ron! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

I gotta share this- mainly because this forum is guilty of whipping my pocket knife obsession into a frenzy. All four kids agree...

Very cool; thanks for sharing it! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
4 kids who all agree on your pocket contents, but no two spell the word the same. ;):D

Always a treat to see them Gary :)
Nice to see the quartet again.
I often wonder where you carry your daily four?
I'm imagining a messenger bag with text books and knives.
Thank you, Gary! You should acquire a jigged wood knife. :):D It's always good to see your "Quotidian Quartet!" :thumbsup:
It's always great to see your wonderful quartet; the Euler's identity knife is also a real thing of beauty, too!:cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks, Jack, John, Dean, JJ.
John, the 2 SAKs are always in my left front pocket, the Minichamp suspended from the pocket edge by the little clip it's attached to, and the Solo standing up, thanks to the safety pin trick. The Sodbuster Jr and the scrimshawed Rough Rider stockman share a nylon slip (front left in pic that follows) that is either in an outside pocket of my backpack, or vertically behind one of my suspender straps.

Stupendous stag pair, Harry! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Lovely knife, José! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

well.... never been much on large trappers but they fit in my watch pocket, thissun is quite fetching, and...... my 5year old picked it out for Father’s Day and just beamed this morning giving to me. I Let him watch me touch up the edges till they shave, and I just used it to nip a cigar. I just might change my mind on trappers, well at least when it come to thissun.

Fantastic Father's Day story! :):cool::cool:

One can easily see why, GT.:thumbsup:
Thanks, Harvey; 3 of the 4 have considerable sentimental value for me. :)

Handsome, handy knife, Frank! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Thanks, Gary. Gift from @Âchillepattada. It's called a "Langres", from where it comes from. Not strictly a sheepsfoot, though--there is some belly in the blade. Great to use in the kitchen.
Thanks for the additional info, Vince. :) I have a Spanish Taramundi with a blade whose edge is not quite straight, and I like it a lot.

Love seeing the variety in those Case Chestnut Jigged Bone knives. I’m glad you’re still enjoy that beautiful Sowbelly my friend! As always I appreciate the compliment on my carries! :) :thumbsup:
Many thanks, Ron! :)

Thank you for the kind words Gary, that's incredibly cool about your IXL Canoe, my former brother-in-law was there when those knives were made, some of the best knives made in Sheffield during that period :thumbsup:
Thanks for the background info, Jack. :) It's a well-made canoe, but it is also unusually made (at least to my somewhat inexperienced eyes), with 3 liners on one side of the spring and 2 on the other:

Very nice! :cool::thumbsup::cool: My most recent knife purchase is one just like that! ;)

An A Wright Lambsfoot, because I almost always have one
And a small Great Eastern #14 Jack, because it's Micarta Monday
...
Marvelous Monday pair, John! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Stellar sowbelly! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: What is the handle material?

Piano Keys.

Symphonic pairing! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Bone for sure.

This knife has some features I normally dont like but just seemed okay on this knife, like the tip bolsters or the swedge on the spear blade.
I can't say I'm growing to like these features, but I do like this knife enough to look past them.
Thanks for the info on the handle material. :)

Thank you, GT.
I always wondered where they all went.
You must have to socially distance yourself from metal detectors. :D

Marvelous Monday pair, John! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Thank you, GT. :)

Thank you sir! Gotta love this age: 9,9,7 & 6.

And may I say, I am truly inspired to try out the “double knife in a slip behind the suspenders” carry method. I love it!!!

Stellar sowbelly! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: What is the handle material?
- GT

Thank you. The handle on the sowbelly is giraffe bone. Organically raised & harvested just a little bit North of me in Bradford, PA.:)
No, really it wasn't.

I finally got it open again but the only way that is happening is by opening the other blades first. Still mighty hard though.
