What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Alox Cadet for Sunday. Thinking about doing a week of Case this coming Monday - Sunday.

I like that whittler- they’ve been making the “half Whittler” for so long, and I just wish they’d commit to the whole one again. Divided spring or 3 springer? What year? Beautiful specimen.

Going with this today. Very useful blade on these lambfoot knives. This particular knife, by a Sheffield cutler, went through some "sorting out" before I was happy with it.

I had one similar to that- fit and finish needed lots of help, construction was crude. Good knife (9.5 out of 10 pull!) but the #93 came out shortly after so I passed mine along to a non-traditional buddy. He carries traditional knives now. The thing still snaps shut like a guillotine. I wonder what corrections you made?

Edit- I thought yours was a Wright, I was wrong! Micheal May... looks interesting. I’m all of a sudden shopping for one. What didn’t you like about yours? Maybe you can talk me out of it. Onebigbill Onebigbill , also, what scales are those? I don’t see them up there, but they are purdy.

Lots of nice knives today, especially enjoying the whittler, inspired me to carry one today. OH

Ah! I’ve been looking at a Boker Whittler recently; the tab is still open on my browser. I was a little nervous to pull the trigger since I’m not familiar with fit-n-finish of Boker or “C75” steel. How do you like yours?

EngrSorenson EngrSorenson this one is German made, a 140th Anniversary special edition (not sure what year that was). The fit and finish is very good, the blade steel is thin (most folks here like thin blade steel). Like most Whittler’s the secondary blades are lightly made - I only use them for light tasks. However the main blade is stout enough for the jobs you normally use a Jackknife or Stockman for - equivalent in construction. I would put Boker’s German made knives as the equal of a good, modern Case knife. OH

One of my favorite places. Think I got some knife pictures on the exact same rock :D:thumbsup:

HAHA, Cool! It is truly an amazing place to visit. I've only made it out there a couple of times and I think both times that exact spot is where I got my favorite knife pics ;)
