Beautiful Rams Horn James!

Gonna carry this one for a few days to get to know it better. So far, I'm quite happy with it ...

That's gorgeous. I'm a big fan of that. Can you tell me a little more about it? it looks like a custom knife, but I'm unfamiliar with the tang stamp

Simply beautiful/Beautiful simplicity.

Thanks my friend- I do appreciate single blades with simple lines.

The trusty 29 today along with the Buck stockman I got from the GAW box. I’m carrying it to inspire me to hurry up and complete my re-dying project for the bone.

That's a crazy patina you've got going on the #29. Looks like the stones it's sitting on. Very cool. trick of the camera?

No- that’s just how the apple did it’s work on the 1095. It’s the first time I used the 29 for apple butchering so I stuck the whole blade in one of the slices as I fed the kids so the patina would cover a good portion of the blade. I’ll keep the patina for awhile, but I’m sure I’ll get tired of it after a week or so and it will get a Flitz bath. Thanks!

Stitch, great knife.
Are those Bean Maine hunting shoes?
They are just the standard unlined Bean (Duck) Boots, if I recall the Bean hunting shoe has a thinner sole for feeling terrain and I think the eyelets are bronze and not brass. I live in and around wetlands so I use them year round and the standard soles wear out quick enough for me and they don’t see too many sidewalks mostly woody terrain, grassy fields. My garage and driveway are the only really rough surfaces they see, after the 2021 sugar season I’m probably going to need to have them resoled. I seal them with this stuff works well I seal usually every fall, I was fishing with them last week standing shin deep and no water and that’s with not being done since last year.

Works well on leather work gloves also.

View media item 9763Boker Solingen trapper. Heavy GEC style pulls on both blades, about an 8 I would say. This one is built right, main blade is thin and the spey is a little thicker and has the lower pull, mostly because the nail nick is way out on the end of the blade. Perfect blade alignment, dead center. I haven't seen any other that have the tree brand shield so deeply cut into the stag, not sure of the model # or exact year of production, but it has a silver box.

These two wood probably work for tomorrow, but I’m carrying them today! ;) Y’all have a great day! :)

Nice pair, Ron. I especially like that big jack and I know I've asked you about it before, wenge wood, right? I'd love to see GEC do a run of those in that wood again and hopefully at a time when I'm paying attention and succeed in getting an early reserve.:)

My two for Tuesday, smooth and saw cut bone.

Sammich’ and Opinel photo today, note the distinct lack of anything healthy on it :).

This is another picture in a long line of them in the traditional forum that make me think, "oh... I guess there are people out there who are like me". Sure... you could put lettuce and tomato on there, and yeah, maybe you could use the kitchen knives you keep sharp... but that's what other people would do.

Cheers, friend.

Thanks Greg! It’s a Tidioute Beaver Tail #53 Furtaker Trapper from 2010. You’re correct, it is Jigged Wenge Wood. That’s a terrific pairing you’re sporting today. The Black Box Winchester Moose looks great in that smooth yellow bone and the Sawcut on the Russell is very nicely done. A great pairing! :)

These 2 today for a trip to the dentist in Milwaukee . Do not carry the white one much , but when I do , it is in a slip .

Harry

Those pictures were taken on my last birthday! I wish I had been the one to take them, and I wish the subjects of the photo had been mine. Beautiful knives. Worthy of pocket slips. Really worthy of pocket slips inside bubble wrap inside a box destined for delivery to my home address. :p:D
