What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Me likey.

Thanks, Jeff. :)

Thanks Gary, I'm not sure how I'm going to finish that one yet. It's the first one I've taken the bark off :thumbsup:

Thanks pal! :D Good for you, I hope you can keep it up :) I've been suffering with my feet again recently, but trying to keep going :thumbsup:
...
Have a great weekend everyone :) Stag for Saturday! ;) :thumbsup:

Looking forward to seeing how you decide to finish your "stripped staff", Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I hope your feet start improving soon, and that you can enjoy getting out and about.
Your outdoor shots of your stag HHB are always wonderful, and I'm glad you include some pile side poses! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

I have to go to the mall for something this morning, so I think I will lay aside my usual carry, and bring my “Mall Ninja [Turtle]” gear:

Although, if “Rude Boys” carry them, why not “Rude Turtles”?
Your Mikovs and Okapis are always intriguing, Tom! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Thanks! I melted down some crayons on the radiator and made that happen!

Seriously though, I bought the trapper on a whim - just like the burnt sienna 29 - and I absolutely love both of those knives. Well made neat to fondle and to look at and the both cut very well.
It's great when you end up liking a knife even more than you thought you would! :):thumbsup::thumbsup:

You'll need to carry that one on Wednesday, GT. :cool::thumbsup:
John, I spent several days trying to figure out why you wrote that! :confused::confused: I couldn't see the Wooden Wednesday connection, I wasn't aware of Hen & Rooster Humpday or Wooster & Hen Wednesday or Mini Canoe Midweek; I was stumped. Finally, sometime Sunday evening, I realized you were encouraging me to carry it on one particular Wednesday, namely St. Patrick's Day today. :cool::cool::thumbsup: "A mind is a terrible thing to waste". :rolleyes:

It's a double Case day for me. Happy Saturday All. :)
Notable pair of Cases!! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Useful Utica, Steve! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I'm carrying my Case small Texas Jack today.

Classic carry, Dean! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
(I wonder if Texans object to the word combination "small Texas"? :rolleyes:)

Just got up and made coffee and as soon as I get my pants on, I'm gonna carry this #93 GEC Ram Foot knife today BUT the highlight of today's carry is the brand new, handmade, custom, fancy dancy, pocket slip made by none other than John JohnDF JohnDF that I'll be carrying it in. This pocket slip features a grommet that I'm thinking will accept a smallish carabiner that I can use to hang the pocket slip and knife from a belt loop.

Thanks John.
My wife and I are headed out to hunt down some new breweries, there’re always in season! :D
Switching out knives for the evening, the knife shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone around here, but the fantastic looking slip might be. A very generous gift from JohnDF, just got it today and it’s already in the pocket, thanks so much John!

Congrats on the first-class pocket slips, ED and Todd! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup: John generously sent me a slip similar to those a couple of months ago, and I've been wearing mine similar to what ED described: I have a carabiner through the grommet, and clip the carabiner to a belt loop so I can hang the slip in the outboard edge of my LRP.

Thanks, you can see my small tutorial here at this link

Thanks for the link, Gary! :thumbsup::thumbsup::) Gonna try that out when I get the right kind of leather.

Toting a stag covered Bulldog stockman and the "super slicer" Maserin Sod today. :)
Love the plethora of green blades leading up to St. Patrick's Day, JJ! :thumbsup:;):thumbsup:

Redmeadow Cowbell. Awesome little knife :)

That amber bone copperhead is pretty awesome, too, Mike! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

I really like that sod buster Gary!

No knife for me today- stomach bug has hit our house. My wife and son had it first and it didn’t leave me out.
Thanks, Ross. :)
Glad to read in a later post that you and your family are now bug-free.

Cool photo! :cool::cool::thumbsup: I smoked a pipe very similar to that one 50 years ago, but my pipe tool wasn't NEARLY as elegant as yours!

Congrats on the great GECs you've been scoring lately, like that pair, Taylor! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

...
thanks, Gary— it was a mistake to eschew it for so long. I’m really enjoying it!
Good to read that you're getting on so well with your new Case folder, Tony! ;):cool::cool:

I kinda let the grading pile up a bit, so I'm still working on it. :oops:
Good thing they're not due until Monday. ;)

Been there, done that ... :rolleyes:

I haven't actually put it to work yet, but I've been totin' this one around the house the last couple days.

Congrats on the new dead skunk, Barrett! :cool::thumbsup::cool: Did it come with a "scratch-n-sniff" sticker? ;)

It's been a while since Stuart @Duckdog last posted here I think. I hope he's doing OK. I thought I'd try calling him back with the John Primble English Jack he kindly gifted me. Pairing it with my regular Hartshead Barlow. Have a peaceful and relaxing Sunday folks :) :thumbsup:

Phenomenal pair, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I miss Stuart's daily posts, too. :(

Thanks Gary, I just picked up an older one in Micarta as well. Really nice size and feel in the hand :thumbsup:

:D:D Dylan's never shy about "showing both sides of the coin." But at least the law can't touch her at all. ;)

The seller on the big auction site advertised this 825 Stainless Schrade as having bone handles with no cracks. He was wrong on both counts. @jsdistin recovered it in ironwood for me. Keen Kutter etch on one side and Razor Blade Stainless etch on the other side.
That's a curvy, sensational stockman, Les!! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Another gray day around here, rain on the way. I’ll try to brighten things up again today and carry these two around for awhile anyway. Enjoy your Sunday everyone! :):thumbsup:

Thanks for helping me with some of my frequent misconceptions! :rolleyes::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Regarding Bliss and Asimov. I saw a channel on Youtube by a young fella about Foundation. He had an amazing amount of details about the books, the overall universe of Foundation and a lot of enthusism about the topic. I try not to underestimate the young; they often amaze me. I also try not to overestimate the young as they often amaze me. :):D:eek:
Wise words! :thumbsup:;):thumbsup:
My student Bliss happened to ask for help with a class assignment after class yesterday, and while we walked back to my office I asked her if she was familiar with Asimov. She'd never heard of him, and thought it was funny that I'd wonder if her name was inspired by "ancient" American science fiction. :p:D

I carried my new Case Rough Black Sodbuster, Jr. today. (a nod to Gary's 5K Qs 5K Qs photo inspiring the purchase). I exercised late today as I went to get my 2nd covid vaccine shot in another town after church. So hopefully, I exercised out the possibility of flu like symptoms.

Handsome new SBJr, Dean, and I saw in another thread that there's a 3-generations connection! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
Glad my knife was an inspiration. ;) I have a couple of patterns in Rough Black, and may pick up more eventually.

A pair o Jacks

Thanks Gary, I've still not decided what I'm going to do with it in terms of finish, but I'm considering darkening the wood with coffee grounds. I've got a nice ferrule, and I'll add a wrist-strap for sure. The problems with my feet started about 25 years ago, and I'm afraid they're an ongoing problem, which have almost left me unable to walk in the past. I'm hoping the warmer weather makes things easier :thumbsup:

Phenomenal pair, Jack! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I miss Stuart's daily posts, too. :(

Thanks again my friend, I sure hope Stuart is OK :thumbsup:

:thumbsup:
Great looking knife Jack, really like that jigging. Nice selection of Irish Whiskey, we named our dog Jameson, that was my second choice because my wife wasn’t going for Guinness!:D

It’s just an old Easter egg wreath that we’ve had for years. They look amazing real, we used to hide Easter eggs on it and they were always the last ones the kids found, until they were old enough to remember anyway!:D

Leaving a little late today so had time to snap a pic before out the door with these two. Green shell handle Imperial Prov. RI that I picked up for cheap some time ago, has great snap, smooth pulls and blades take a good edge. Schatt & Morgan spear has poor snap but good blade steel and I like the fat spear profile, plus blade is thin and slicey. Have a good days, friends.:thumbsup:

The knife on the right is a Frontier Imperial I believe. My grandpa was a farmer and it was one of his. He was my best friend growing up and I miss him daily. He definitely used his knifes!

There’s something special about having Gramp’s long carried and well used knife.

Two 2-blade knives for Tuesday. 4-1/4" Robt. Klass, single backspring with some sort of black wood covers and a Camillus EO with bone covers.
The Camillus found its way to me as a gift from a fellow porch member and arrived razor sharp and ready for carry. Thanks, Paul. :thumbsup:

The Porch generosity strikes again!
Perfect Rogers bone on that USN Utilry Jack.
Regarding your green Imperial, unless they were abused, or badly rusted, I don’t think I’ve ever handled a Providence RI Imperial that did not have strong springs and nice feel.
