A bit of a seasonal mashup there Gary. I dig the old Imperial with the freshly fallen black walnut!

rcs86 rcs86 @315 You guys have given me a bit of inspiration for todays carry, the only knife I own that had my Grandad’s hand on it - one he gave to my Dad back circa 1970. My Dad kept it in a tackle box until giving it to me about ten years ago. Ulster 58OT. OH

That's an honorable hand-me-down, Bruce! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Lots of variety in that pair, Joshua! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks Gary, they may change. Unfortunately all the hardware stores are closed here at the moment, or the ones near me are anyway (I'm looking forward to going over to Barnitt's!). From what I've read, you just rub the coffee grounds onto the stick. I just hope I can get an even finish, which is one of the reasons I haven't done it yet. Thanks again buddy :thumbsup:
Sounds good, Jack; I hope it turns out even better than your expectations! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Couple of tortoises today, one thrifty and one not. Really like both of them! :)

Terrific tortoise "twins", Todd! :cool::cool::thumbsup: They reminded me of some verses from the Song of Solomon in the Bible that Ernie Harwell, the Detroit Tigers radio broadcaster for most of my life, used to recite during the first spring training broadcast each year:
For lo, the winter is past, the rain is over and gone; the flowers appear on the earth; the time of the singing of birds is come, and the voice of the turtle is heard in our land.

Happy Thursday.

Your Pal Navy jack could easily become a guy's best buddy, Jeff! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Thanks! All nickel/steel faded on the ends and fissures galore. One drop, and bone disintegration:eek:
Smooth W/T and a pic with just a tiny bit of daylight.

What a knife! What a photo! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary!
I used to think that too, but...
This particular Camillus has Western blades in addition to the "Remington" handles. Its a mutt :)

Thanks for the extra info. :) It's a marvelous mutt!! :thumbsup::thumbsup:;)

Thanks, Gary. The Whittler is a great example of Tony Bose's and Case's dedication to the collaboration knives.
I almost hated putting my slide rules aside when I got my first scientific calculator, the TI SR-50, in 1974. There was no going back at that point though.
:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool: When I read about your first calculator, I thought, "Hey! I bought a TI scientific calculator in the summer of 1974, too!" But that must be a false memory, because a TI with the features and cost I remember apparently wasn't available until later. Mine was an SR-51-II that appealed to me because it had numerous statistical functions, and I've now decided I got it in the summer of 1977.

Just received a knife like that through the generosity of a BF member! Classic pattern! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

This Pioneer X goes essentially everywhere I go, I find the scissored eminently useful. However, and I am late to this particular “news”, I just learned a Farmer X exists in ALOX. That may be my ideal SAK. I have nearly pressed the Add to Cart button probably a dozen times over the last day, and can feel my resolve weakening by the moment today :).

Nice black and blue pairing, Tom! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup: I've also been looking at the Farmer X. Having blade, saw, and scissors in the same Alox frame has MUCH appeal!

Thank you! I like your knife poem!
I see what you did there.

Nicely done. :D
I must admit, I had to google it. Well done 5K Qs 5K Qs !
It was clever, and I think a fine response to your photo. Which was also well done. :)
Thanks, guys. :) I listened to a lot of music earlier in my life, especially about 1965-1980, and have a lot of lyrics still rattling around in my head that push their way into my consciousness at unexpected times. And my BFF Joni Mitchell said I could modify her lyrics to @Trvr 's photo. :rolleyes:

Thank you, Gary. I feel the same way about some pictures. It could be lighting; I find that early morning nature photos seem to appear better. :confused::)

One of my favorite hymns contains the lines:
The morning light,
The lily white
Declare their Maker's praise. :cool:;)

Absolutely gorgeous knife, LT! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

5K Qs 5K Qs ~ thanks for noticing my stag, my friend:)
You're welcome, Jeff; hard NOT to notice it! ;)

Case 6332 Medium Stockman for todays carry. Going to put together a venison soup in the crockpot for supper this evening and then try some mid-day Shad fishing on the Trent River. Hoping I can find a spot to get down to the bank and keep the wind off of me - pretty decent gusts today. OH
Case_6332_-_1978.jpg

Everything right about that knife: epitomises CASE as an outdoor jewel and worker :cool:

The Amber Bone that you got hold of for me is darkening nicely :thumbsup:

I love venison stew, and a spot of fishing be nice -the only fishing we have here at the moment is ice-fishing, drilling holes in sea ice, NO fun :eek:

Thanks, Will
