What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

View attachment 1546421 View attachment 1546424 The Klein knife was a hard used and abused hawkbill, which I purchased for a project. It’s an extremely robust knife, with a strong spring that makes me grateful for the half stop.
Based on the construction and materials, I think it was made by Camillus for MKlein&Sons. It’s identical to a Camillus #1 hawkbill pruner. And even though it’s brown instead of black, the scale material and number of pins means it is roughly the same age as the TL-29.
I am not sure what that material is~ it is harder than the smooth scales they used later. You can see the texture...View attachment 1546419

Something different for Thrifty Thursday:

I have the same one. Mine wouldn’t open the secondary pen blade with the whistle attached though. I was surprised at how nice the knife is considering the price.

I wonder if the lanyard wasn't tied properly. There's a neat slot for the cord to pass through without contacting the blade's tang.
Still a cool knife, and the pocket slip is handy.

Bailed non-SAK of the Week is a Colonial Forest-Master, my first knife ever (about 1960):

Nice that you still have that one Gary :)

International Knife of the Week is a Mora 120. I think it's my only fixed blade (not counting kitchen knives):

Thinking of getting one of these

These two for me today - I’ve been enjoying this M&G quite a bit lately.

And since we are posting pics of our buddies, here is one of some of my pals - it’s just missing the ol’ man.

Headed to town so the wife can get her hair done and I can sneak into the gift shop to buy her birthday present, and then on to the Wagon Wheel Cafe for a Ruben sandwich with O-rings. This trip should call for nothing more than a Sod Buster Jr. so a Sod Buster Jr. it shall be - Maybe a Sod Buster but which one? Decisions, decisions, decisions. I'll have to think this over over a cup of coffee.

EDIT: Change of plans. The wife just came out and said she didn't feel like going to town today so it'll be a stay at home day with a leftover tuna casserole for lunch. Will still have to pick out which above knife I'll slip in my pocket for around the house chores.

Rainy and cold here. Oh well, at least it's not snow, although there's plenty of time for more of that!

My DIL says she's bringing us a loaf of home baked bread tomorrow. It must be an incentive to sharpen up their Shun bread knife that they dropped off.:D A bit tedious sharpening serrated blades. This one was pretty dull, but I'd do darn near anything for a good loaf of crusty bread!;)

I've got these two for Thursday. I really like the Lake collab. It mostly gets admired, maybe opens an envelope or package on occasion.
Have a good one!
