Good to see some of them getting out in the open. Can’t believe it’s been 5 years since they released. Bought mine in store there at GP Knives
Buying GEC sure has changed, even in the short time I’ve been buying them.

Staying home today to rest up for Cataract Surgery tomorrow morning so I'm not totin anthing but do have these two knives on my desk.

Will most likely carry the Ram's Foot tomorrow.
Good luck Ed!;)

I also think your TEW Barlow has stupendous burl wood.:thumbsup:
Thank you Dean!

Have any suggestion on how one might go about getting a great quality one over the pond?
I don't have any clue, I've gotten all mine by purchasing Jack's SFO's or as gifts. I know some Porch members have been ordering some with varied success, maybe they'll chime in.

Carrying these today in anticipation of another GEC today .
Case Seahorse Whittler and Tiny Trapper

Then the 38 Yankee Whittler came in

Both Case & GEC are great examples of the Wharncliffe Whittler

Excellent and very useful comparison pictures thank you. Always liked that CASE Rodgers Bone but gave away a Stockman in it. The Seahorse while imposing I never took to as the Master blade was so thick and chunky, hope the GEC is slimmer? The 38 could make a compelling Norfolk knife with Wharncliffe/ Small Clip in Pen form.

Thanks, Will

You have my sympathies and understanding ;)

Went for a walk in town today, it's been fine & sunny for a few days now even 13 C  Nice flower bed next to an old building facing south with a creeper in bud, Muscari, Snowdrops, Crocus, Daffodils and Jonquils all suddenly in bloom when days ago bare dirt:cool:

But forecast for sleet and gales at w-end, the horrors of 64° North....:(

View attachment 1550158 You may be wondering if I’m waffling. Wavering between Woodnesday, and Whittlerwednesday. Get both, I say.

Speaking of both, both of these were gifts from a couple of porch friends, Harry and Ron.
Both is always a good answer.
Todays tote are a couple of whittler pattens, one wearing wood. :)
Happy Wooden Whittler Wednesday.

I've got a replacement rosemary, ready to plant.

Thanks very much Will . The Case main blade is much thicker at the tang and it then gradually thins down , but it is visually much heavier than the GEC main blade . The Case is also a longer and thicker knife in general . Maybe I should get my calipers and do and post a comparison between some of the Particulars . I will leave it to some of the other folks that do know how to Whittle to comment on which is the better Whittler . The Case does not have the WEDGE , as the GEC does . IMHO they both are well made knives .
