What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Somehow, I missed this when you posted. Hope all is well.
Thanks ED. He was pretty feisty today despite being on morphine and hooked up to a computer store worth of monitors and drips.
Think maybe laying there pretty much unable to move, is worrisome a bit to him. He'll be okay. Will just take time of course.
Thank you for the kind words and well wishes.

What a day. My son’s 18th birthday and we picked up the new boat! Finally sitting down to catch up. Here is what I had with me today. A thoughtful gift from Gary along with a scrimshaw kit. Whenever I get up the courage I’m going to try to do some scrimshaw work on this Marlinspike probably to commemorate out new boat! Thanks Gary!879852E2-C805-41B2-B5DD-B5A18D4D2C07.jpeg
The Lowrance is from our old boat.

So, as a cotton farmer, does your cotton sampler get used for its intended purpose?

Perfect knife for a new boat day. That’s exciting. When I was a kid, my dad had an LL Bean tote bag he always brought with him when we went sailing, and he always had a marlin spike knife tied to the handle of the bag.

Thanks Sacto! The stories and memories are what I enjoy most about the porch.😊

I finally got the Boker 20-20 that I have been thinking to buy. Man oh man, this is a fine knife. The fit and finish are top notch. The design in my opinion is understated but classy. The plum wood scales have a nice color. This is a large knife, 4 inch blade and closed about 5 inches, but still not too heavy. It is best carried in a pocket sheath hanging with a cord from belt or belt tab, or a belt sheath. Spring is just right, not too light or heavy. There was some grittiness in the action, but I used compressed air to clean the knife and put some oil in the mechanism. While this is a fine collectible, I intend to carry and use it. The blade is carbon steel, so I expect it to gather patina.
