I'm enjoying the Turkey stories, Jeff.So it has been four or five days since Mom Turkey and her four younguns decided that our backyard was home.
Excellent picture, Jack.
Case knives have become much more enjoyable to use once I learned how to fix the centering.
I guess I've been pretty lucky with their blade centering.Case knives have become much more enjoyable to use once I learned how to fix the centering.
My single blades have come centered. All of the 2 blade models I’ve bought have been way off center. No biggie these days thoughI guess I've been pretty lucky with their blade centering.
I'd guess about 90% come pretty well centered, the others just get sent down the road.
Three smashing knives GaryKnife rotation day tomorrow and I almost forgot to post these last 3 from this weeks batch!![]()

Thanks a lot fellersExcellent picture, Jack.![]()
Very cool MikeHappy Monday everyone! Made it home late last night from our trip to the coast. Great weekend with family celebrating my niece, who graduated high school and is off to university in the Fall.
Had a very pleasant bonus yesterday afternoon. We got to spend a couple of hours visiting at thewaynorth homestead. Charlie put up with us (and the almost 100 degree heat) in his lovely backyard, where he shared some of his collection and conversation. He sent us back to Calgary with a pretty awesome hat, and for today I just had to put the Harness Jack in the pocket
Thanks again Charlie!

I think you’re taking “EDC” quite literal. I’ve been tempted to get one myself to check outGetting ready for the 4th this week. Finishing up the little wall at the back of the beach I started before I jacked up my back, and putting up some lights and fans on the dock and bar. I almost switched from my Jack to the 86 in Micarta for today but, I’ve decided to stick with the Jack.View attachment 1591058
There ya go... stick to what's working for you.but, I’ve decided to stick with the Jack.
You’re right about that Jon! I had it for 6 months before I really carried it at all. I don’t know what it is about that knife. It’s not flashy, and I like flashy knives, and it’s not the best knife for every task. It’s just comfortable, I guess.I think you’re taking “EDC” quite literal. I’ve been tempted to get one myself to check out
A trapper in disguise??![]()
Kutmaster with two main blades.
Cool song, John! My daughter played violin for many years, so I enjoyed the plaintive fiddle in the cowboy song; I like the vocal harmonies, too!Boy howdy... I enjoyed that quite a bit. Thanks for posting it.
And if you like that type of music, here's one of my favorites; The Sons of the San Juaquin
Elegant and enchanting pair! One knife, the Charlie Lamb, for "Black Friday"
One knife, the Case/Bose Norfolk, for Rachel's @r8shell "Fancy Friday"

About the verbosity, my family usually falls asleep before I finish a story!
That black Farmer is a beauty!
Stay safe, ED! Have they been able to control the situation by now? We've got a fire on Bureau of Land Management (BLM) land three-quarters of a mile from the house - 131 acres, forward progress stopped, 20% contained. Got the Expedition packed - go bags, water, snacks, papers, etc.. We're not leaving the house because if we do, we might not be able to get back in. All this said, I've added this Buck 112 to my belt.

It started with a lightning strike when a thunderstorm passed over us yesterday at about 3:45 PM.
Notable pair, Todd! Congrats on that superb GEC 83 (and apologies for not remembering whether I'm repeating myself regarding that lovely lockback)!Carrying these today, two very lovely, and very different clips.View attachment 1589149
Local customs can seem strange to outsiders! I've certainly never seen anything like that! (Although here in the city where I reside, it's not uncommon to see a pair of shoes dangling from random overhead power lines.)View attachment 1589161
Some of you have remarkable geographic features where you live.
We have the shoe tree....
Dazzling dusky duo, JJ!
Thank you, Gary; I liked seeing your Zorro Barlow again.![]()

Thanks, Dean; I plan to pick up a Zorro moose pattern with rounded bolsters, too.
Stallion and a Stockyard Whittler

Striking black/orange pairings, Steve & Greg!Thank you, Gary.I watched that Roy R. clip you posted this morning before I headed to work, a bit of nostalgia put me in a good mood to start the day.
Different whittler in my pocket, along with some ebony for Black Friday. Osage is always one of my favorites and ebony with steel pins and liners is also something I'm fond of. The leather on my John DF made slip is taking on a nice patina with use.

Charming knife, Mike! And I learned something new from your post. I had no idea that Canadian flights had a "carry-on approved" list of knives; it's basically blade < 6 cm, right? I think ALL cutting edges are still banned on US flights (except for checked bags).Case half whittler for the weekend. Getting on a plane for the first time in 2 years, flying to Vancouver to see family. No checked bags, so had to pick one "carry-on approved"

Superb photo of your stag HHB, Jack, with a vast, verdant vista in the background!...

Taylor, is that little girl with the water wings your daughter who I still think of as your "newborn"?? Man, time flies!Up at Lake Tahoe for the day. Beautiful.....water is insanely cold.![]()

Congrats on the new Bull Nose, Gus! (And, if I haven't already posted it, congrats on the Canadiens making the Stanley Cup Finals!)As some of you have seen today, this is fresh outa the tube. My first and at the moment, it’s all rainy and muggy up here so I’m hangin’ in-doors with it close by. This pic is from earlier in the day brightening up the present and I’ll tell ya’s, if you don’t have a 71….
GET ONE, or as many as you can!!
Wondering if the F&F also stands for Fit & Finish… it should!!

A great nite to all![]()
Yeah, I was born in 1951 and find it challenging to "pin down" a birth year knife. I've kind of settled for "This 1936-1952 Imperial is close enough; it's almost certainly at least as old as I am!"Yes, three dots. Should be a lot easier than if I was born one or two or three decades earlier. The hard part is deciding what I want.
Glad you could fit in some fishing, and catching, at the pond! I haven't fished since I was a kid, but back in those days, if I caught a fish that was bigger than the hook I caught it on, I considered it a trophy!I had my eureka jack with me today. I had a chance to fish in the irrigation pond for a little while today. The conditions were not great, windy and weedy. Luckily I had able to haul in one lunker.

That's a highly desirable Alox model, José!!
Your stag HHB sure is a handsome knife, Bill!
Your disdain for community standards (Stag Saturday) is appalling, you Texas maverick!!...
This is Saturday, right? Whatever:

Yellow Delrin and patina are an aesthetic combination!
Yikes! I hope my wife doesn't decide to "deadhead" me, now that I'm many years past my "Best By" date!Schradurday at my house.

A 175, and a 136 hawkbill, because I intend to go out between the predicted and sorely needed rain showers to deadhead some perennials that are past their “Best By” date.

You're getting a prestigious patina on your Texas Jack with its long run as one of your carries, Todd! (And that pen blade on the TJ is one of the best secondary blades of all time IMHO.)Only one thing on the agenda today and that’s mowing the yard, and since my yard is the size of a postage stamp, I pretty much have the day off from chores. No surprise for my carry, I’m trying to pick up something different folks, but I’m just really enjoying watching the Jack patina.View attachment 1589689
