What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

These two black utilitarians today...
The Case jack is always handy....and then the electrician TL29 is one of two pocketknives issued to me while in the USMC, the other being the camp utility style which many refer to as the Demo knife....really, interesting note, this TL-29 is the Demo issued to combat engineers and e.o.d. guys and I have heard them both be referred to as Demo...for me, they were both part of the E2900 small arms' repairman tool kit and being a tool room nco for awhile, I ordered a box of 12 and gave one (camp knife/utility) to each armorer in the infantry weapons repair shop where I was station at Camp Pendleton....later, they issued us Gerber and Leatherman multi tools with sheaths to keep, I still have all 4 variants...cheers for another warm and sunny Thursday gang!
Thanks for the story about your GI knives, and thanks for your service, Mike.

I carried my soda scout in the Bay Area For work today.

Starting when we left for a vacation on August 7, I've temporarily abandoned my weekly rotation schedule. I usually do that for vacation and take a bunch of knives with me that are "free choices" that I have a special reason for choosing. This year, most of my vacation choices were knives that were relatively recent acquisitions that I wanted to take for a 2-week "getting to know you" period. But I'm carrying those same knives this week for a third consecutive week and plan to continue it next week as well for an entire month-long "honeymoon period". (I'll go back to my weekly rotation schedule starting on Labor Day.)

So this week and next, I plan to post some of those knives in this thread, starting with some new Rough Ryders I ordered that arrived in late July.
Here's a RR "artisan wood" canoe that I think looks quite attractive. No idea what kind of wood is used for the covers.

RR moose pattern featuring Zorro:

Carbon steel RR Wharncliffe trapper with Wharncliffe/spey blade combo (I really like substituting the Wharncliffe blade for the clip blade instead of for the spey):

RR Tobacco Road sowbelly stockman, with covers and blade combo I really like, but the "middle" blade seems over-krinked:

Nice group Gary, that wharncliffe trapper is interesting, hope they make a mini trapper with that wharncliffe. 😊👍

I may go fishing today, I may not. Always things to do around the garden, but there has been a hatch of flood mosquitos from the rain we had two weeks or so ago. One tried to bite my eyeball, while two more held down my arms, so I had to rush this outdoor photo.
Schrade Franken Jack~ the blade came from a 194 Old Timer with a broken spring. The older 194 with jigged delrin had a broken blade. They were sold as a “for parts or repair” pair on the auction site. F92454A4-A635-45C7-8799-70F79379D13F.jpegI don’t know what Kabar called this knife. Schrade’s identical, and fairly rare one, was called the New England Whaler, and Case called theirs the Loom Fixer.A18D85A8-D69B-417D-9502-44B9D6D7C22D.jpeg
