I appreciate your opinion, José!Another nice selection of knives, Gary.![]()
Satisfying photo, Jack; I really like rosewood covers on a lambsfoot!Hope nobody has been badly affected by Ida. Got a holiday here today. Carrying a Rosewood Lambsfoot, had a few of these made up a few years back, better fit and finish, and a polished blade. Have a good week everyone

Splendid stainless stag 73, José!
Thanks for correcting my identification attemptThis one is an Outdoorsman from the Marlboro series. No clue if they ever made it without the Marlboro scales. Yesterday I swapped out the scales for some green Micarta ones I had lying around. Add another layer to the Explorer with a fish scaler and saw, and a small flathead screwdriver/chisel on the backside and you end up with this. The lanyard is a short one so it wasn’t connected to me at the time.

Thanks for the confirmation.Thanks, Gary. Yes, it’s a 25 easy-open with a sheepsfoot.
Nice color coordination on that pair, John!
Thanks for the info; I should get to AGRussell's site more often, especially if they still have a version of those lockback Barlows in stock!Thank you GT. They don't list the natural bone anymore and list the black delrin as discontinued, so I think you're right. They still have some brown jigged bone in stock. I liked the white bone enough that I also bought one of the brown ones. Both of mine are seconds which made them a good buy. Very well built knives. I really like the blade shape.

Sounds like you're having a good time, Bruce! Thanks Greg! So far so good, yesterday we went to the Rainforest Zoo, rode around the mountains and visited two covered bridges, ate late lunch/early dinner at the Old Mill in Pigeon Forge, and finally attended a Country Music show last night. Going to Dollywood today, riding around in the mountains tomorrow (before the rain reaches us) and going to a Motown music show tomorrow night. One day I will take a vacation where you just sit and sip coffee in the morning and beer at night - but not this time! The 6318 has been my only carry so far. OH
Fantastic fake stag on that Craftsman! One of my favorite carry knives is this craftsman branded schrade whittler from the late 60’s or early 70’s.

Sounds like a good compromise trip, Todd!I was an RA back in the day. Hadn’t thought about that in years. We did some fun camping and canoeing trips.
Maybe I’m thinking of the lower falls then Gary, because I don’t remember any particularly difficult trails. We were there in 93. We remember that trip as our camping/condo trip. On the way up we camped which is what I wanted to do and on the way back we stayed in condos, which is what my wife wanted to do!![]()
Notable pair, Harry!
Congrats on the superior 83s, Harry and Taylor!
There's nothing to be sorry about, I read too fast and translated badly. My English is only basic and not very accomplished in the language of knives.
I think it is only dangerous for the inside of the pockets if you don't carry the knife in a sheath.![]()
You gentlemen make a good point that all my fears about the sharp tang corner on a closed Laguiole can be removed if I just use a sheath for such a knife!Personally I've always stayed clear of Chevrolets made in Korea...
Ain't there a saying like "if it ain't broke..."?
The Lag is now 200years old... If anybody's gadget had suffered a puncture, this would deserve headlines in the national press...
Btw, I remember I read the same thing about Opis... (and no puncture on this side happening either)
Further, I've been told that sheath makers beat their wives because they don't selle enough!![]()
Wow, 32 years, that must feel like a home away from home. Hope you find another place to enjoy many more vacations Gary.Sounds like a good compromise trip, Todd!My wife has decided that we won't return for a 32nd consecutive year to "our vacation spot", since they don't allow pets. I'm sure I'll miss it; I can't imagine finding a place with as nice a location (for my tastes).
