What traditional knife are you keeping handy on the big day?

At last! Christmas day and I was just wondering what you were planning to keep in your pocket. Even though you're probably planning to stay in I'm sure they'll be plenty of opportunity for traditional knife usage and, lets face it, it wouldn't be Christmas otherwise. How you gonna deal with those blister packs?, that stubborn wrapping?, those bows, knots and, yes, those hard to release battery compartments?. For me it'll be my trusty RR small stockman, smart enough to impress the youngens but small enough not to worry the mother-in-law. What's your plans?

I'll be carrying my green Peanut like everyday, but I'm thinking I might slip my Ebony 83 into my pocket for Christmas Day. It just feels special.

Might put the Opinel 6 (Thanks, Brett!) into my back pocket.

Oh, Geez... I might need to carry my Beer Scout, too, for Holiday beverages.

I'm getting another Peanut from my wife, too, so that should definitely be in my pocket...

Hmm... I may need to think this through a bit more...

I'll have two with me:

my official Christmas present opening knife,

Bah need to renew my membership so I can't post pics

I'll be carrying my GEC Red Acrylic French Kate in honor of the lamp in A Christmas Story (It's a major award!)

But it will also be backed up by my Angryman Kiridashi for busting open blister packs and those stupid plastic ties.

Since this is the traditional knife forum let's try and keep it traditional knives only, please.

I'm going to keep this Seahorse nearby tomorrow.

All I have with me are a SAK Huntsman(?), Western made Demo knife, and a old highly abused Old Timer 6OT.

I keep this one handy every year from Christmas eve until new years day, or there abouts. Got it in a round table gift event at Christmas of 2006 on another forum. Was my first Case knife. Shortly after, I removed the pocket clip and locking liner, and edced it for a bit. I also reground the bladend to a full flat grind.

For 6 or 7 years now it's been my dedicated Christmas or December knife.

Highly modified originally 1 of 300 red Christmas tree bone Mid folding hunter from 2003.

whoa! A dedicated Christmas knife and one with a great history. Looks perfect for the job Ice Tiger, nice to see. 👍

Loving your knives guys, looks like you're all well prepared. Reckon you could well be influencing a few future knife knuts with those babies. Gotta say I love that seahorse Frank, a beautiful knife fit for any Christmas day eventuality. 👍

Since my kids and others will be getting Moras, I will represent with my dog-eaten 612. Especially after Charlie the Poodle got into the gift pile and gnawed the similar knife my son is getting. After that, some flavor of Opinel and a slip joint as yet undetermined.

Definitely going to have my Abbeydale on hand :) Have a great day everyone

I am still deciding, but leaning towards a congress so I have lots of blades to choose from!

This one will be with me today. A present from my dogs ;) I will carry it with me at this special time for all the dogs I've had both past and present.

Probably these two just to tempt one of my daughters who wants one of the Purple 72's .
