What type of HI Khurki is close to this one (pic from Resident Evil)

Those are aluminum props.

IMHO, the coolest khukri HI has ever made was the "Movie Model" which Bura designed after seeing a prop khukri in a recent movie . . . I think it might've been "The Mummy."

Very nice curves with a sharpened top edge. It doesn't look like any other khukri I've ever seen. And it is functional. I have a pair hanging on my wall.

Never saw the movie and it took me a minute to figure out if this was a woman or young man from the first pic. Anorexic little thing! I am pretty out of the main stream....and like it that way!

I'm guessing you haven't seen Fifth Element. She's an absolute TWIG in that movie:

As for the knives... you'll never get something from HI that's close to that cheese. Only quality around here!

Yeah I like that one too. It's Bura's interpretation of a yataghan... which turned out to be more like a sappara.

I can dig it:thumbup:

I did see the Fifth Element but did not recognize her. But now that you point it out I see they are one in the same. Yeah, she is really twiggy! Some regular chopping with a real khukhuri should put a little more meat on her. I can agree with you on this one for sure!

I think those are too pointy for the ww2.

I'd say BDC would be close but the BDC would be a higher quality than those

Welcome to HI and forum, my suggestion is get the Yeti hunter

Don't know what size that one is in the picture... but the drop isn't as much as the movie ones. The handle angle and look is similar (though it shouldn't have a ring). The tip seems pointier on the Yeti than the Resident Evil one too.

It's "close" but not that close. I'll stick to my previous statement:

Maybe Yangdu could get the Kami's to leave off the rings on the handles and leave the blades black and sell them as Zombie hunters...could open up a whole new market....then Vampire hunters:p

Definitely not as cute as this chick. . .;)

Hey, that chic is me! Thanks for the compliment.

Mtell1,

As for what knife to choose, I would go with what Yangdu suggests, the Yeti. It's pretty close and what you are really going for is the whole feeling and impression you give, not an exact replica. When you have got two big, bad ass khuks at your side, people are going to get it.

i'm pretty sure they're based on some mods to the basic ghurka model from windlass.
m4040

I know 3 things from that page,
1. the guy has never held a HI Kurkri.
2. if he thinks 20 bucks on ebay is too much to spend on a kurkri he needs a intervention.
3. he should really invest in a HI instead of buying ebay specials which aren't even as good of quality as the Windlass version.

or he could just buy a WWII Airman's variant Kurkri which is pretty much what he reinvented.:D

The men at m4040.com and at survivalprimer.com are both off their rockers, IMHO, and I get tired of being directed to their sites every time I do a kukri-related search.
The SurvivalPrimer guy really gets my goat: he posts an entire page devoted to how he mutilates his khukuris for "religious" reasons! I hope he never gets to ruin an HI that way......

<end of rant>
