What Variations Would You Like Kershaw To Add Next?

is it bad that i saw a commercial for kentucky fried chicken and immediately thought KFCF? not sure about kentucky fried carbon fiber but how about kershaw forum carbon fiber knife exclusively sold to forum members. mock ups welcome.

I would like to see a fully tricked out Nrg, with Ti frame lock handles and a composite blade.

+2 for Colog's idea. Tricked out ENR-G 2, all the bells and whistles. GIMME GIMME!!

The Lee Williams article in the last issue of Blade was EXCELLENT!! Very good stuff.

CB Cyclone
CB Shallot
CB Skyline
Carbon Fiber handle slabs on Skyline
Heat striped Ti slabs on something
CB fixed blade
CB damascus blade with D2 edge
Ability to purchase blades seperate from knife
Ability to buy handle slabs seperate from knife

Hey bigcozy,

Nice to have somebody around who isn't too high maintainance, know what I mean??;)

Good ideas, but DAMN!! One step at a time.

Cheers,
Jonny:D

Believe it or not, I didn't list everything. I am a idea guy.

I am working on CF slabs for Skyline. Have a Skyline on order and CF is sitting here beside me. Also have some damascus blanks, just don't have the time I need to make some protos.

I was just razzin' ya a bit cozy:D I really do like the sound of your ideas, especially the CF Skyline:thumbup: I know CF is a bit pricier, but I just can't get enough of it.

Cheers,
Jon

another one that came to mind, is something along the lines of a mini-RAM. when i first got my RAM i noticed the small size but the big feel in the hand. however, i go into places where there are 2.5inch blade laws and i would like to see something along the feel of the ENER-G (sm).

on a more conventional side, i would very much like to see a boron carbide coated version of the Mini Mojito. I am part of a small group of individuals who love the Mini Mojito so much we want the Full version, or maybe a double Mojito. i still would like one, but i also love boron carbide and think it would have a nice look with the mojito, all boron, and a polished studlock. nice

Hey Thomas,

Would it be possible to hybrid materials using the composite methods? I don't know how it works so these may be stupid ideas. I was thinking of a Ti blade with a ZDP, SG2, CPM D2 or CPM 154 composite attached. Or maybe even a carbon fiber blade with a composite insert machined or bonded in. Coat it all with different shades of DLC to denote transition areas. Or leave it all the same to make it look homogeneous. Or a generic blade with locking high grade interchangeable inserts, a variation of the blade trader. The hardest part would be making it affordable for production runs, but hey, you guys have done it numerous times before:).

Be sure to make a post when you make your carbon fibers handles for the skyline, I'd love to see how that turns out.

yes i know people here have those picture and photoshop skillz. lets see some mockups of the variations

Skyline should be here this week. Problem is I moved away from the shop I used to use, so it may take awhile. I usually take all my projects and spend the night in the shop so I can maximize work time. CF is VERY ugly to work with, those splinters are bad news, so I have to work in a safe area.

CF slivers are some of the nastiest things you can find flying at your face. or so i'm told

i'd love to see more Leeks with Titanium Frames (like the old 1660TiZDP).

like a Leek 1660TiS30V (titanium frame and S30V steel of course) or maybe a Leek 1660TiCB (Ti frame and the new D2/Sandvik composite blade)

i'd make either one of them my EDC in a heartbeat!!!

Oh yeah, Leek 1660TiCB would be a must buy. Or two.

I'd really like to see non-AI options for all the Ken Onion knives - I love the feel, the size, everything about them, but don't EDC them b/c of the AI - I've taken the torsion bar out, but it's not the "same" - no matter how much time I put in, I can't get it to smoothly and solidly open and lock up.

They make non-AI knives...and I've got some explaining to do to my girlfriend!

did you mean AO? I've heard of assisted opening but not AI unless you mean artificial intelligence.
