Here is my experience with Frost Cutlery & Hen & Rooster. I purchased like a Big Dummy a Kitchen Set of 5 kitchen knives and a stainless block from them believing I was getting a Solingen Germany made product. Upon arrival I unpacked the box which I over paid UPS for to find a Big Made In China set.

I called and complained and was told that it was Solingen Steel but made in China.

I have collected knives for over 50 years; some of my best Slip Joints are German made knives.

I gave the set to Good Will, they weren’t even sharp.

I now I am not the only one here. POST THEM.

This should go in FEEDBACK: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly! As the heading says: This is your area to tell about your experiences (Good or Bad) with dealers, sellers, and individuals you've bought, sold, and traded with. (Moved from the General Knife Discussion.)

There is no such thing as Solingen steel. Solingen is a city in Germany with a lot of knife factories but no steel mills. All knives marked "Solingen Steel" are fakes.

Same applies to "Sheffield Steel," by the way, and "Swiss Steel" on imitation SAKs.
